Trek Remedy 9.9
The basics
The Remedy 9.9 is the latest addition to Trek's mountain bike lineup, providing a carbon frame, disc brakes and suspension that offers huge travel to soak up those bumps and drops.
The good
The Trek Remedy 9.9 features everything you'd expect from a high-end mountain bike, including a carbon frame and other exotic materials including titanium, magnesium and various alloys. Despite being light, it can easily withstand knocks and drops.
The way it soaks up jumps, drops and bumps is amazing, flowing beautifully over rough terrain. There's 150mm of travel on offer from the front suspension, providing a particularly supple ride.
The Trek Remedy 9.9 even features a remote controlled seat post, letting you change the height of the seat as you ride, another feature that can prove invaluable when entering different terrain.
There's no worry about any of the specs either, with high-end Avid Elixir disc brakes, Sram X.0 gears and everything else you need to stop and go. The Trek Remedy 9.9 performed particularly well in our recent mountain bike test.
The bad
It really is a struggle to find anything wrong with the Trek Remedy 9.9. The only real issue for some people will be the £5000 price tag – but then again for serious mountain bikers it's something that won't come as a surprise.
The bottom line
Overall, we really like the Trek Remedy 9.9. It's a great choice if you're in the market for a high-end mountain bike, with stunning build quality, a great ride and a neat design. The super-light and tough carbon frame is also a plus point.
