Bionicon Golden Willow Scandium I
The basics
The Bionicon Golden Willow Scandium I is a cross-country bike that's one of the most adaptable around. It has a military grade aluminium frame. It has a system that enables it to go on flat, uphill and downhill. All you need to do, as riding, is press a button and the forks can be adjusted up or down.

What an awesome idea, its a nightmare riding a bouncy downhill bike on flat roads, one question how does the suspension reset for road use, seeing as how it springs UP into a downhill preset.

Hi, the front forks and the rear shock are linked together by airlines. The amount of fork travel is infinitely variable, when you press the magic button it doesn't just alter the travel on the fork, it affects the geometry of the frame too. It's easier to see than describe, have a look at our web site www.bioniconbikes.co.uk where the Bionicon in action page demonstrates this. cheers Steve

Bought mine April 2009 after spending months trying out GW and other manufacturers' models - kept coming back to GW. Don't use the variable geometry as much as I probably should but can really feel the advantage if I re-adjust on a climb. Has advantages even on flat ground; set up just right for the terrain, or even to suit your mood - fast ride or just cruising. Best MTB I've ever owned; so versatile.
