TomTom Go 930T
The basics
The TomTom 930 T is a GPS navigation system for use in automotives. It uses the IQ Routes Technology as well as advanced lane guidance. The 930T is also fitted with the Tom Tom map share system as well as a hands-free calling capacity. This navigating system also has a built in FM transmitter.
The good
The top-end TomToms just keep getting better. This smarty-pants front-seat driver has a built-in FM transmitter to beam digital music to your radio, MapShare to keep your maps bang up to date and top notch routing throughout almost the entire Western Hemisphere. Safety camera and traffic info are second to none, and you get all the Bluetooth features your mobile could wish for. In use, needless to say, this is peerless. We’d even go as far to say that this is the don dada of mack-navs. Believe it!
The bad
Like a sugar-crazed three-year-old, sometimes the 930T just won’t shut up. It’s got text-to-speech for SMS messages, spoken instructions and street names, and even voice guidance for lane changes (alright, this can be handy at tricky junctions). Voice recognition needs some work, too – or perhaps it just doesn’t understand the, ahem, colourful vocabulary we use.
The bottom line
Enough navigation smarts to take you halfway around the world and back without so much as a wrong turn. This, people, is as sexy as satnav gets.
