North Face E-Tip Gloves
The basics
Numb fingers are no fun on the slopes, but neither is having to whisk off your gloves every time you want to make a call or use your iPod Touch.
Step forward the E-Tips. The special finger and thumb pads let you have full control of your MP3 player's clickwheel, while the special tips mean that your iPhone's screen will play nice with them.

Does anyone know a reputable online dealer to buy these from? And do they really work as they say? I am a bit sceptical...

These could be really useful, but they look like more of an under glove than a main glove! any one used them and find them warm enough, or if they keep the snow out if you take a tumble?

What a dissapointment :( after watching the gadget show last week, these gloves were described as keeping your hands warm in the cold conditions and seemed to offer a solution to a very irritating problem of not being able to use your phone or any touch screen for that matter with gloves on, so I imagine, just like anyone into their gadgets and about to go on a snowboarding holiday I powered up the laptop and ordered a pair online straight away. Unfortunately in realty the functionality and practicality do not both come together in perfect harmony to provide the intended solution of these gloves, don't get me wrong here, the e tip main selling point is the practicality of using your phone without removing a glove, this I can not fault and is awesome when using your iPhone, easy to use and it is as if you are not even wearing gloves at all!, where this product falls down is that when on top of a mountain trying to keep your hands warm it is again as if you are not even wearing gloves at all! but this time not in a good way! I just spent 3 days snowboarding and after several hours in the snow had to purchase an alternative pair of gloves from a local store as I felt that my fingers may fall off any moment due to the cold conditions! Sadly another dissapointment for me is that the gloves are not very tough or durable, within the few hours I wore them and the 2 or 3 times I fell over snow boarding (yes I am still learning, haha) one of the fingers had split on the seam and I doubt very much that they would have lasted the weekend. Functionality when using a touch screen 9/10 Effectivness at keeping your hands warm 2/10 Durability/Toughness 2/10 I would give this a G Rating of 1 at most, although the functionlality is there, there is little point in creating a glove to be used in cold conditions if it does not actually keep your hands warm. I am incredibly surprised with the review on Gadget show by Ortis Deley, in my opinion theses gloves are really only good for......hmmm...what are they good for?...slightly mild days? or people that just like wearing gloves for no apparent reason? oh or people that are really worried of catching/spreading germs from the touch screen, yes thats it, perfect!

These gloves are so hard to come by, everyone seems to be out of stock! I bought a pair last weekend from a seller on Ebay and I must say they are fantastic!! I have been snowboarding with them on today using my Ipod and they are awesome!! I will never go back to normal gloves again!! Get some!!! ;)

Saw these on the show and undertsood the problem straight away. Great for being able to use my iPhone and look pretty good too. Got mine from Cotswolds outdoor shop where they were £22. They aren't the warmest gloves but they do the job and its still warming than pulling your hand out of your gloves completely and fumbling around with your phone/mp3 player.

Does anyone know, if you can turn over a script page with the gloves? I work in the film biz and can never wear gloves, because I have to turn script pages non-stop, when we're filming, and it's getting cold now:-) Thanks

Just got my pair in the post from asos.com They are very good for every day use but are not winter sports gloves and they are not designed to be. They are better from england and walking around in the evening. More like a pair of running gloves. But the e-tip works great on my iphone.

Not sure how anybody can claim these gloves are warm! I just bought a pair and tested them by walking five blocks back to my office. My hands were already getting a little cold (it's 24 degrees Fahrenheit today). The fingertips do work well on my phone's touch screen, but I wouldn't plan on using them for anything more than for running in chilly weather or for germ prevention. If you want warm gloves you should not waste your money. I am very disappointed because I assume when I see the "North Face" logo on anything, that it will keep you warm. Not true.

As a follow up to my comment after reading Laerke's comments, I know this is almost two months later, but the other positive is that they provide pretty good fingertip dexterity. I purposely left my gloves on when i stopped to pick up lunch and managed to pull my folded bills out of my suit pants and sort and flip through the bills easily while wearing the gloves. So that is the other pro that I noticed. So for anyone who doesn't want to scroll for my other comment; Pros - Fingertips DO work on touch screen phone & allows for very good fingertip control. Con - NOT WARM AT ALL. Like, at all.

Could you potentially wear thin thermal gloves under the e-tips? for added warmth or would this then mean the glove will not function well???

North Face E-tip gloves, a Failure. I bought the North Face E-tip gloves and within a month or so and during Winter when I needed them the most, they just stop working....? I couldn't swipe the screen and by and by it became more difficult to use the e-tip gloves at all. I have returned them to the NF shop where I bought them and they told me that they would try to repair them, (i do have the receipt). Please note; I only used these e-tip gloves to and from work and going out on cold days, they literally didn't touch anything but my iPhone. north face just isn't what it used to be or maybe it never really was at all, there just wasn't all the other smart brands out there like we have now. My first smartphone gloves, what a disappointment.

Got these from a local outdoor retailer in Olympia, WA. They took my order via the phone and had them shipped to me. www.alpinex.com! Nice find! Thank you for the review.
