It really is a good piece of kit. Fotunately I was given the complete UK maps SD Card for my birthday. Got mine 2 years ago, used pretty regularly...and with Satmaps FREE upgrade facility, I have all the benefits as if I'd purchased it yesterday. Satmap seem to be an unusual company......they treat Customer Service seriously and couldn't have been more accomadating when I had initial teething problems. So if you can afford one and think it would be useful, in my opinion, you won't be dissapointed....and it won't become an Old Model, (they even offer a Servicing Facility to keep your unit working at it's best). Oh, and in case you're wondering...No I don't work for them.

Great piece of kit. Does what it says it does. Ongoing upgrades are useful. Used it loads. The down side is the price of the maps particularly if you want 1:25000 scale. Buy them slowly as you need them. Exellent website too.

Bought this and the 1:25 map of Derbyshire. One word Awesome! Map detail is phenomenal and toggle feature is really handy. Tried it on a misty day on top of Kinder Scout. Faultless performance. As Mr Bradbury said 5Gs, he wasn't wrong.

I have been using the SatMap Active 10 for a few months now and am loving the functionality that the unit provides but am hating how often I have to swith batteries! I have entered the UK IronMan triathlon and have been using the active 10 to scout out and navigate new training routes most weekends. It has been great at keeping me on track but I only seem to be able to squeeze 6 hours battery life out of it before a charge or battery change. I am going to mess with the power save options now and see what I can find! My attempt at a review - http://www.runtheline.com/1981/satmap-active-10
