Sony Ericsson T715

G-Rating

Rating of 4

The basics

The Sony Ericsson T715 is a slider mobile phone with a 2.2-inch QVGA screen. It has a 3.2-megapixel camera, Google Maps and a microSD slot. It measures 91.5x48x14.9mm and weighs 97g.

The good

Forget BlackBerrys, the Sony Ericsson is the best-looking business phone in, erm, the business. It's so pocketable and cute that it's hard not to admire the T715. And thanks to a slide-out keypad popping out from under the sensual 2.2-inch screen, it's still perfectly usable. It's quick in use too, thanks to 3G, and the inclusion of Google Maps is a neat touch. SOny Ericsson's also ditched its proprietary memory card format, plumping instead for micoroSD... finally!

The bad

As good as the T715 is it feels old, for want of a better word. It looks too similar to the year-old Sony Ericsson W995, which isn't a bad thing, but with snazzy new Android handsets hitting stores every day it feels a bit behind the times. Elsewhere the 3.2-megapixel camera isn't quite up to Sony Ericsson's standards and there's no 3.5mm port, which means you can't use other headphones!

The bottom line

The Sony Ericsson is a very good handset and will perform a multitude of tasks to your liking, even if it feels a little bit like last year's model.

I have had this handset for 2.5 months and had nothing but problems with it. Everytime you try to use a memorycard it freezes and turns it self off. I was told by my network to change the memory card, which I have done twice, still the same fault. I would not recommend this handset if you want to hold music on it.

Really cute phone but lots of problems with connectivity, NO NETWORK access, poor 3G, slow loading, crashing, camera and memory card problems, poor charging results. Mine in for 2nd repair in less than a year!

Do people ever actually win all those prizes they claim to give away after answering a simple question. If they do I don't think one person should win all those prizes. They should share them out to the people that enter the comp and get the answer right.
