The basics
A sliding HSDPA touchphone with 2.8-inch OLED display. 240x400 resolution, 16 million colours. 8MP autofocus camera with LED flash, 30fps VGA video capture, GPS, 1GB microSD card. It measures 110x52x13mm and weighs 123g.
The good
Samsung’s flagship handset wants you to be happy. If you don’t like the home screen, the flexible TouchWiz interface lets you shuffle its web, media and organiser widgets around to your heart’s content – and even shift the operator’s logo. If you don’t want to carry a point-and-shoot camera, the Tocco’s 8MP has enough autofocus options, scene modes, a powerful (though only LED) flash and even a smart panorama function. And if you don’t like its sparkling OLED screen, well, get yourself some new eyeballs, because this is simply the sharpest, fastest, most colourful display on any phone today. Add good desktop software (yes, really), fine construction and accurate GPS and Samsung should be on to a winner.
The bad
The Ultra isn’t a smartphone. You can’t download bird-spotting guides to North Africa or an application to make people’s faces wobble. Get over it. More annoying is the lack of Wi-Fi, the occasional UI and web browser hiccups, and action-dodging shutter lag on the camera. The bonkers texting system might try your patience at first, too.
The bottom line
If you’ve got some cash to spend but don’t need the hassle of a smartphone, the Tocco Ultra Edition should be top of your shopping list. Its camera, interface and media skills are almost flawless, and you’ll soon get used to its few usability quirks.

After recieving my phone just over a week ago, I find that the battrey goes from fully charged at 0800 down to one life bar by 1500, this is a pain, all the technology but not the power to use it, also the key pad has lost the use of buttons 2 , 6, and 0, the phone is being replaced by vodafone, but alas if the battrey does not last any longer then it will be totally repalced by a different phone..

Hi, the Samsung Tocco Ultra is my first touch screen phone and ok, so at first I had reservations about buying one, but I do find it innovative, entertaining and smart - no, it isn't a 'smart phone' but it looks good! I like the look of the phone, it has a great build quality and feel to it and yes although the UI is a bit quirky, and I don’t think that the user manual provides enough info, (and also texting can take a bit of getting use to), it is still a good and feature packed phone and versatile. I’ve used the GPS and accessed websites quickly as long as sufficient signal strength is available. The Ultra’s battery life tends to get a lot of poor reviews however, even though I’ve found that the battery indicator is quick to drop from showing full, the actual ‘length of battery life’, for me is averaging around 4 days and maybe that’s not great, it’s certainly acceptable-and I do use the phone as my primary ‘communications gizmo, and besides, any electronic device (phone, laptop, whatever) that gets a lot of daily use is bound to run down that much quicker. I would recommend this phone.

i have this phone and i love it, normally i get bored of one after a few months but this one is great and i recommend it to anyone, teens especially!

I upgraded my Sony Ericson K850i to the Samsung Tocca Ultra just last Saturday and I am very pleasantly surprised with it's features and build quality. I have in the past owned an iphone, but just could not get on with it. I thought it was down to the touch screen being awkward to use. I thought this would be the case for all touch phones. However seeing that most new phones these days are now touch screens, I decided to give the Tocca a try. I find it very easy to use, very customizable and very intuitive, in fact I am a very happy bunny. Highly recommended.

the forgot the biggest downside the battery is very flawed. poor performance. need to charge up each day. just to make phone calls.brilliant phone. great functions. just naff battery.

I got given this phone by my insurance company as my nokia 5800 which the screen kept on breaking.anyway this phone brilliant for pictures and simplicity but the speaker is not that great and my headphone adapter broke within a week. I am also have problems with the fact it is corrupting my songs,needing the battery charged every night it is slow no wifi and no qwerty key board it is annoying but is pretty much indestructible as it has been drop from 10 foot in the air at speed on to concrete and survived when if I had have done this with the 5800 it would have smashed also I love the home interface with slide menu's and widgets.

i think that the camera is great 8mp wow thats best camera ive had and the touch is quite good and the internet is fast when it decides to work :D but i like this phone because its not to heavy and you can feel it in your pocket pretty easy to use but the texting is a bit weird at first but soon as you get use to it youll be flying GREAT PHONE 10/10
