Panasonic KX-TG8522
The basics
The KX-TG8522 features a 2.0-inch colour screen, ability to send and receive SMS, loud hands free calling thanks to Panasonic’s ‘Clear Sound’ Technology as well as a super impressive battery – giving 13 hours of talktime and a monumental 250 hour standby.
The handset and base station are finished in piano black plastic and all the buttons are slightly raised to allow for easier use.
The good
The Panasonic KX-TG8522 is a really nicely made handset; it feels brilliant in your hand and looks stylish too.
Looks aside it’s the features that are the real winner with this handset. Calls are crisp and clear and the handsfree is a joy. Even with the handset some distance away calls are easily audible for both participants.
As previously mentioned, the KX-TG8522 has brilliant battery life, especially when you consider that the phone has a bright, colour screen. We never got close to testing it’s talk time claim – but managed an hour-long call, without making a dent in the battery.
The bad
Some may find the buttons on the KX-TG8522 a little close together. We didn’t have too many issues, but there were a couple of occasions where a number was pressed in error.
While the piano black finish looks great – it does have a tendency to attract dust, grease and fingerprints. We found ourselves constantly wiping the handset after use.
The bottom line
The KX-TG8522 is a stylish handset that caters for almost all your telephonic needs. At £90 for a dual handset pack, it isn’t the cheapest, but if you are still a regular user of your landline – this phone is the best money can buy.
