Nokia 6600 Fold
The basics
This clamshell mobile has a two-megapixel camera with 8x zoom and double LED flash. The Fold also has music playback and can record video at up to 15fps and QVGA up to 30fps. Internal memory's only 15MB, but a MicroSD slot takes cards up to 4GB. Battery lasts for four hours (talk time) and 300 hours on standby. It weighs 110g and measures 88x44x16mm.
The good
Why waste energy opening a clamshell phone when you can tap a button and let an electromagnetic mechanism do it for you? That’s exactly what you get from the 6600 Fold. We love its smooth opening action and the fact that the hinges are hidden - it gives an entirely smooth back to the phone. In fact, where looks are concerned, the Fold is a real stunner. It's small, minimalist, sports a mirrored paint finish and has an ultra-subtle external LED display that delivers call info and a clock. Sweet.
The bad
Aside from the eye-catching styling and design flourishes, there isn't much to get excited about here. True, downloads are a breeze Louise thanks to 3G, plus there’s a built-in music player, but the 2-megapixel camera is disappointing. Still, there is a nice bright dual LED flash and a miniSD slot.
The bottom line
The 6600 Fold is certain to prove a hit with anyone who's all about the aesthetics. Dig a little deeper though, and the features just don't measure up.
