Motorola RIZR Z10
The basics
Motorola RIZR Z10 is a mobile phone designed and manufactured by Motorola. Its dimensions are 109.7 mm x 50.7 mm x 16.8 mm, and weighs about 199 grams. This phone has a 3.15 megapixel camera with autofocus, video, flash, and a secondary VGA camera. It comes in two colours: Black and Chrome.
The good
The glory days of the RAZR must seem so long ago now for Motorola, but the Z10 is a step in the right direction. We were happy to see the back of the horrific Day-Glo edging from last year's Z8. Gone too is Motorola's famously bad user interface (finally!) and in its place is the user-friendly Symbian UIQ operating system. 3G downloads and web browsing is super-fast thanks to HSDPA, while we found the built-in Video Editor useful for perfecting movie clips.
The bad
Although the 3.2-megapixel camera is a huge step up from the weedy two-megapixel camera featured on the Z8, it's still not quite up there with the best five-megapixel snapper phones from Nokia and Sony Ericsson. And while it's not as garish as some of Motorola's recent offerings, it's nowhere near the style granddaddy of mobile phones - the RAZR.
The bottom line
Motorola's upped its game with the Z10. While it's not the killer device we were hoping it would be, it's still a user-friendly smartphone with some decent features.
