HTC Touch HD
The basics
The HTC Touch HD delivers music videos, films, streaming and internet browsing on a 3.8-inch WVGA screen, using the touch-sensitive TouchFLO 3D system. There’s HSDPA for ultra-fast web-surfing, a five-megapixel camera and a 3.5mm audio jack. It measures 115x63x12mm and weighs just 147g.
The good
Its display has two and a half times as many pixels as the iPhone, its camera has two and half times as many megapixels and even its HSDPA is twice as fast (well, probably not in real life) – HTC is really gunning for Apple with the Touch HD. Naturally, you’ve got GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an accelerometer, an FM radio and a media player on board, and remember that all (recent) Windows Mobile devices can share their web connection easily with a laptop.
The bad
That’s right, I said Windows Mobile. Behind HTC’s swanky, supermodel-smug TouchFLO 3D interface lurks a gang of pizza-eating geeks forcing you through thousands of miniscule menu options and then stealing all your memory. Put it this way – you’ll definitely need the magnetically-attached stylus. The HD also lacks software support for some of its coolest features: few games and apps make use of the G-sensor accelerometer and you might need to hunt for codecs to play back videos on its lovely screen. It’s real pricey, too.
The bottom line
It’s one of the most powerful, highly specced smartphones out there, but why should you invest in a Touch HD when HTC isn’t? A great choice for Windows Mobile road warriors, mind.

I love my HTC Touch HD. It's perfect, sleek & stylish absolutly crystel clear screen and a nice loud ringer if needed for a noisy environment. I cannot fault this fantastic phone, show me a better one I would be very impressed if you could find one. All the best, Dan

Bought the Touch HD phone six months ago as needed MS Office. Apart from the short battery life, now bought long life battery, I love this phone. It does just about everything I need except make the coffee. Being Windows Mobile the Apps are not so easily on tap but they are there to find. I normally start thinking about upgrading to a better phone after a few months but six months in and I have no such thoughts as I haven't seen a better phone for me except for possibly the Tough HD2. For me if this phone was an Olympic ice dancer it would score 6.0 accross the board.

i got my HTC the day it came out back in 2008, and i have loved it ever since. i class it as my baby, however i have had problems with it as to begin with it did not recognise my memory card so my memory was full and it was extremely slow, however once i had sent it off to get it fixed it was absoulutly perfect. i have never had a phone which is so responsive and perfect. it is definately a difficult phone to love up to and i will definately be keeping it even when i upgrade in a couple months time. i would reccomend big time!!!!
