BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300
The basics
We've seen more and more entry-level touchscreen handsets recently, so it's a refreshing change to get our hands on another smartphone with a proper keypad – the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300. Sitting at the affordable end of RIM's BlackBerry range, it doesn't offer anything revolutionary, but it's a decent handset for texting and emailing.
The good
As with previous BlackBerry handsets, the Curve 3G excels when it comes to entering text. The keys are smaller than the more expensive BlackBerry models – like the Bold – but it's still easy to type at a fast pace, and we found it more accurate than using a touchscreen device.
Despite the budget pricing, the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 is packed with features. As the name suggests, RIM has included 3G connectivity, making it easy to browse the web wherever you go. That said, the small screen does make it more limited than touchscreen smartphones.
The BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 is a compact handset – with dimensions that feel a lot smaller in the hand than lots of touchscreen devices. Quality is also good, with the BlackBerry proving easily tough enough for daily use.
The bad
The form factor of the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 automatically means that the keyboard takes up valuable screen space, so the Curve isn't quite as good as rivals when it comes to browsing the internet. The 2-megapixel camera also looks outdated.
The bottom line
If you're only interested in a phone for calls, emails and texting, the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 is ideal. The keyboard means you'll be able to text easily at speed, and quality is also good. It's not so good when it comes to web browsing, however, even with 3G, as the screen is simply too small in some cases.

I have this phone and its the best one i've ever had, its easy to use and has load of good features. The app world is great for adding extras!

I had the other version of this curve the 8520 and it failed on me twice..Camera wise the phones are no good at all i actually DOWNGRADED to the Blackberry 8900 which has better camera quality and flash and a much clearer, crisp screen . As I was not the owner of this actual model I cant really say much about it but my friend said the internet speed is average like the normal curve so you are paying extra for the same phone basically with slight changes to the design. If you're a first time buyer of a blackberry I would suggest doing some research on all the different models because as ive found out some of the older models can prove to be better than some of the "more affordable" options they have brought out and you could potentially get a deal with the old phones cause as new phones come out the older versions just get cheaper so keep looking :)
