Twike Easy
The basics
Promising to be ten times more efficient than a normal car the Twike Easy is a light electric vehicle with a maximum range of 150 miles per charge. Unlike traditional cars, users steer it using a joystick. Other benefits include not having to pay road tax or the Central London congestion charge when using it. Score.

Plenty of coverage of my experiences of caretaking Twike 433 at: www.illinois.edu/goto/twike A new Twike is approximately 20,000 Euros. When I first started looking at them 5 years ago, the US dollar was strong and that translated to US$18,000. Now it's closer to $30-35k. And totally worth it. Mine is 11 years old and was used, and the FINE Mobile team just left my house (in Illinois, USA). They are committed to their owners, and they are good people: they're competing in the Progressive Insurance Automotive Xprize, and the Icelandic volcano caused a backlog of freight leaving from Frankfurt Germany, so their vehicle didn't make it in time for the first stage (they were permitted to delay until the second stage, so they're still in-it-to-win-it). Anyway, they still had the plane tix, so they flew over anyway to do repairs on the Twikes in the US (there's 20 or so). I've got a standing offer to give a free ride to anyone that wants one, but be forewarned: They are very fun and very addictive, especially for a bicyclist -- to ride in one is to become hooked ;-)
