Ion-Mask
The basics
Ion-Mask is a new technology that renders materials impermeable to water. It can “outperform commercial waterproof fabrics” In testing it maintained its waterproof abilities after 100,000 flexes. It works using a chemical based on the element fluorine. Put the material in a closed chamber, then the chemical is vaporised and attaches, molecule by molecule, to all the fibres in the fabric.

Ok, firstly, I want one... like, really want one. This is incredible! As a mankunian I am extremely familiar with the dread of getting drenched, and the thought of being able to completely waterproof my jeans, trainers, jacket, even my socks! It is a dream, as is being able to waterproof my iPhone, which I try to avoid getting out in a downpour, but is inevitable... Anyway, to get to the point, I love this product, I want one, but how can I get it? Is it in production, or will it soon be? Get me the Ion-Mask!!!!

I have some Hi-Tec shoes treated with ion-mask and it wore off in 3 uses. Useless
