I have read that this does not work for a cuppa because it does not get the water hot enough.

Although not as hot as a kettle it does work surprisingly well for instant coffee, tea and a plethora of instant drinks, I like to drink without milk so it particularly suits me, but my wife does take milk and is fine. What doesn't work well is rehydrating foods such as Pot Noodles, this is not great but I will sometimes do this for a snack but subsequently put the product in the microwave for 20 seconds to finish it off. Overall the product works well in our household for quick instant drinks with no hassle.

Had to stop using ours. Too noisy and doesn't get the water to a high enough temperature. Shame really - good idea but not very well executed.

Had one for over a year, works well but spits water and cup contents all over the works surface. Descaling using white vinegar works well as we live in a hard water area. Do not know if the new model stops the water spitting.

great if you want a quick cuppa, though the water isnt that hot,but i must stress it doesnt take long till it breaks down, mine is now stuck in the cupboard because it hardley fills the cup wqith water and steams a lot,not sure if its because i live in a hard water area, but now i prefer my normal boil kettle.no chance of buying one of these again

My son and daughter-in-law gave me one for my birthday a few years ago. I must admit, we did stop using it and go back to our kettle initially, because we found it was not hot enough for a good cup of tea. However, I have started using it again as a bedside teasmaid, and find it good. My husband says I will have to stop using it because the noise when it heats the water disturbs his sleep! To sum up, it will be good when they can overcome the temperature and noise problems, but the idea is good. P.S. Someone commented that the water dispensed did not fill his cup/mug. If you have a large mug, you just press the button again and it will continue. You will have to press it again to stop it, unless your mug fits twice the volume!

I have had one of these for a couple of years now and it works great. yes it's not as hot as a kettle, but I find that the water is hotter if you fit the filter. I think this reduces the flow rate and therefore allows the water to get hotter. Hard water has always been a problem for me, so I have an electronic coil around the inlet pipe so limescale doesn't settle in a kettle, and it doesn't clog this either.

A great invention, alas unreliable. Mine failed in less than a year; I upgraded to the Quick Cup Delux through Tefal (with discount), which is a more powerful, hotter machine, although still loud. After nearly 3yrs the Quick Cup Delux has also failed. I am now looking at alternative manufacturers.
