Nescafe Dolce Gusto
The basics
If you're after a fuss-free coffee delivery option, this Nescafé and Krups collaboration might be right up your street.
Simply pop in one of the specially designed coffee pods – there are seven different types to choose from – press a button and the Dolce Gusto will deliver your drink in seconds.
The good
With its distinctive design that makes it look a little like a coffee-dispensing penguin, you can be sure that the Dolce Gusto will be a dinner-party conversation topic if nothing else.
The pod-based dispensing mechanism does away with any coffee-making palaver simply choose from seven different coffee styles – from short espresso to layered latte macchiato – pop the pod in the machine, press a button and marvel as your drink is dispensed in seconds.
The 15-bar pressure system means that your cup of Joe will always be hot, and caffeine addicts can even ramp up the strength of their cuppa.
The bad
While the Dolce Gusto certainly looks unique, it might not be for everyone – and what might look cool now, might not in a couple of years.
The pod system may mean hassle-free option, but it also cuts out that coffee-ritual magic, and you're married to the Nescafé's pod offering, which are also more expensive than buying ground coffee.
The bottom line
A brilliant budget and hassle-free option for those who want to make like a barista with minimum fuss.

I purchased mine and cannot go back to instant freeze dried granules in a jar ever again. Fuss free, so easy, quick and tastes magnificent. The pods look expensive, however, when you think of how much you pay per cup in any coffee shop it's economic and you deserve it! Would recommend to any coffee connoisseur.

Does anyone out there know how you can have a repair carried out on a Nescafe Krups Dolce Gusto coffee machine? The switch on mine has gone faulty and now the mchine will not work! Would be grateful for a positive response. I live in Belfast. Thanks Annestity

Mechanically the machine is fine but in a year we have lost dozens of pods as they often explode during the making of the coffee. Either the pressure is too high, the pods too weak, or both! Be aware...
