The basics
The Xbox 360 is more than just a games console, thanks to Microsoft’s efforts to turn its gaming hub into a proper media player. Fire it up and you’ll get movie rentals in HD, music and video streaming abilities to bring your PC’s media collection into the living room, and it’ll even tap into Sky’s on demand TV services too.
The good
The Xbox 360 Elite has tons of storage space, and a HDMI socket in its rear, so hooking it up to a HD TV is a simple case of connecting one cable, which is included in the box. Playing games online through Xbox Live is a slick experience too, with tons of gamers ready to challenge you at any title. It’ll even pull double duty as a Media Centre Extender, bringing your recorded TV from a Windows Vista or Windows 7 Media Centre PC in the lounge straight to a back bedroom.
The bad
Xbox Live is a paid-for service, and at £40 a year, it’s not cheap either. The hard drive, while roomy, is also smaller than that of a top-spec PlayStation 3, which clocks in at 250GB. The design of the Xbox 360 is also dated compared to Sony’s new slimline PS3, and the annoying whir of its fan is audible at quiet points in games and films alike.
The bottom line
Despite its age, the Xbox 360 remains a powerhouse of a games console, with constant updates making it an indispensable media machine too. Sure the design is more tanktop than tight jeans, but the Elite’s black paint does a little to soften its wrinkles, and when it comes to online gaming there are few to match it.

I own both and dont see why people bitch a bout it the xbox has better online even though you have to pay for it. The ps3 has blue ray which does improve graphics and the yes the onlne is free but basic.

anyword if the 360 that has been developed for the microsoft games developers (looks like an elite but with metalic blues trim 1GB of RAM and a huge HDD) is gonna come out for the rest of us to buy. (you will find pics of it if you google new 360 elite)

The one improvement i would like to see offered to the xBox-360 would be to improve the audio quality . I mean music we rip from a CD to the xBox-360 and played through our sound system Hi-Fi. is still very poor quality. I have yet to see microsoft offering any improvements, considering the xBox-360 is being sold to us as the heart of your system. Games, films, streaming from p.c and to play music stored on the hard-drive.... It is a shame that the audio quality for music is some what limited & poor. As for the menu for music on the xBox-360 which has never been improved. Does make you wnat to considering moving over to a PS3 at least they are always trying to improve their console.. i.e New 3D filmware offered to all PS3 console. The xBox-360 Staff to me, fail improve an area which if you see the bigger picture would also improve game sound quality which kids would take note and speak about.. and inturn would offer bigger sales over the PS3... Come on xBOx -360 offer some improvements to the audio sound quality or at least offer a new console with better choice and improved overall sound quality if playing music stored on the xBox-360 console.

ps3 may have better graphics but xbox online mode is by far better and also the xbox has a better range of games too. Xbox is by far the better console

The bottom line is the Xbox 360 is better for hardcore gamers. Sure if your into a Blu-Ray player and finding nemo by a Ps3 but if you want a better conscole with a bigger selection of awsomer games get an Xbox. Xbox 360 online is a hundred % better , smover and quick. We dont Get Lag like PS3 cause we are made by the internet. We have lots of software updates ( the only reason PS3 have updates is to try and stop viruses lol ) So stop livin in the year 1999 and get an Xbox 360

i have both consoles the graphics with both consoles on 1080p is sexy and pretty much the same yes xbox is paid online but for a reason its by far the better console online and the elite has a 120 hardrive compared to the ps3 250 but iv yet to even fill 50 gigs of my hardrive with over 30 games so 250 is just a big number u really will never use the only thing i like abut the ps3 is the fact that it silent but over all i prefer the xbox 360

i had a ps3 but i sold it to get an xbox and i think xbox is better to play online and they have better games but the ps3 is has better because it has blue ray but XBOX ALL THE WAY!!!

I have got my XBOX 360 elite and its great! Bought some games and play really well it's a bit loud compared to the ps3. Also the big fail is xbox live! It's not free like ps3! But overall it's a great buy.

I have had two xbox's now I had the normal 360 then the elite. I think the Graphics are amazing and as it was much cheaper than the Playstation I opt for the Xbox everytime. A wide range of games makes this console my favorite. I have never used the online facility so I cant comment but when I have spoken with people who do go online they prefer it to the Playstation online experience.

I am thing about getting another console i had 360 but it went fault and i didnt get a new because micsoft wouldnt repair because i open but i give a couple of year and am thing of getting a new one , but am not to sure which open to get a ps3 slim or 360 slim , i like really good graphics and having fun , and not to sure about online yet , so if anyone got any good information for which console i should would they post on this page for please thank you for reading this .

I have the ps3 and the disc tray has packed in on it and sony wish to charge me 110 to fix it where as xbox didnt charge my friend for fixing his i think in the long run xbox is better in many ways all it needs is the blue ray and it will be 100% better then ps3 hands down i get my elite next tuesday and i cant wait to get cod mw3 and forza 4 for it whoop whoop
