Nintendo DS Lite
The basics
The Nintendo DS Lite is a dual screen hand held console from Nintendo. It is more lightweight compared to earlier models. This handheld gaming console was released in 2006. The DS Lite is capable of receiving Wi-Fi signals and tips the scale at only 218g. It also sports a longer battery life compared to its predecessor the Nintendo DS.
The good
The bright, crisp twin LCD screens - one of which is touch sensitive - sets Nintendo’s handheld clearly apart from Sony’s slicker, more powerful PSP. This dual screen arrangement means games can be interacted with and controlled in a number of unusual ways - which in turn means the DS has a hugely varied library of innovative titles that puts the PSP’s game selection to shame. Wi-Fi and a long battery life are other plus points.
The bad
The DS is getting on a bit in console terms, so its graphical abilities are a little off the pace - while PSP graphics are on a par with the PlayStation 2’s, the DS’s are more in line with the Nintendo 64. It’s also almost totally lacking in media functionality, unless you tread down the unofficial accessory route.
The bottom line
Its aging bones are creaking a little, but the sheer fun factor and scope of its games library makes the bold, beautiful DS Lite the best handheld console around.

The thing that you havnt pointed out is the the DS games are over priced. A bad point is that you could pay a little extra and you could buy a 360 Arcade.

I broke my arm badly and it took nearly a year to heal , without my DS Lite my life would have been sooooo boooooring ! I also had my 360 and Wii to keep me amused .

My son wants a DSI, as he thinks it will be better than his DS lite. Is he right or just spoilt?

No he is right they are a lot better but you could sell his ds lite on ebay or something then put the money towards a dsi.

For the comfort of 'Niggel', the nintendo ds lite usually costs around one hundred pounds. And don't wait for the price to come down because it won't until another decade has passed.

For the information of Teresa, the DSI is a major advancement from the DS Lite: It has much better graphics, 2 cameras and a more robust casing.
