Dear andre... Absolute popycok! I own a xbox and have use my relitives ps3 extensifly but be no means nesecery dose the ps3 even come close to matching the xbox's online capability. Xbox has more games more choice at a lower price. Further more i would know all this because before buying my XBOX i reserched for 3 moths on all the pro's and cons with the xbox. indeed 2009 ps3 way better the hd graphics is not true (the xbox has good graphics though) the xbox is cheaper but made out of rubbish plastic and always overheats. Many people have had to take their xbox back because of the 'circle of doom!' altogether ps3 is in a different league.

the ps3 is the better now, from 2009 all new titles have come out and online is no different then on the xbox there the same and all in all i have an xbox 360, ps3 and wii and only the wii is different. all im saying is that the ps3 and xbox 360 are the same so stop fighting about them, there is only small different things about each and i meen only small things ie. game titles.

I have one of these also the few faults to me are that the GPU is in the worst place (meaning it will overheat easily) secondly wheres the internet access? The PS3 connected very easyily to my router and let me use there version of Internet Explorer and i could easily browse through the WWW. The Xbox360 how ever didn't connect 'AS' easily sayin NAT Problems etc and i cant even browse the web. LIVE/PS3 Network does cost considerably more (£40*) whereas the PS3 Network is FREE. Even though this makes it look bad i prefer the Xbox360 as it was alot cheaper when i got it and still is!

I agree with everything with this reveiw a part from the graphic part, the PS3 has way better graphic, all you have to look at is Killzone 2, the up coming game God of War 3, and the lara indiana hybrid Uncharted. Plus the one of the best graphical games on 360 base on fans opinions is Gears 2, which i might point out it cant do proper widescreen which is the flaw with the unreal3 engine and is also use in unreal tourment 3 which is also on the PS3 You could have add more to the bad points with the ms points and also the online fees Plus also if you want to store music on the 360 you have to Rip them of the disc, which is why the PS3 is better at the media side of things. I might point out that saying the 360 has better games selection is opinion base then facts. What is you think is the best game could be different to mine the good point is that the 360 is easy for devs to program which means that when it comes to mutiplatorm games 360 will have better quaility, all this means is that devs have to work harder to get a PS3 game to look the same in mutiplatform games, so it up to the devs if they want to put in that extra effort.

Two things are misleading. It says that it has better graphics than PS3, this is incorrect. Try comparing exclusive games graphics on the two consoles like Gears of war 2 to Killzone 2 or Metal gear solid 4 to Dead rising, PS3 games are substantially better graphically. It also says that for die hard gaming fans it is the better console when in fact it has far less notable game titles than PS3. Xbox has Halo 3, Halo wars, Gears or war 2, Dead rising and Dead rising 2 whereas PS3 has Killzone 2, Metal Gear solid 4, Resident Evil 5, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm Pacific rift, Motorstorm, Gran Turismo 5, Infamous, Prototype, Ratchet and Clank and Resistance 2. Please update your review.

This is partly in reply to ThomasThaTank, i think u need to update your comment as your clearly dont have a clue about the xbox360 games as what uve listed as PS3 games isnt all that true, 1. Xbox is getting the new metal gear release so thats not now only ps3, 2. res5 has been out on 360 since the game was released....seeing as i have it lmao where u got that from i have no idea.....Prototype has also been on xbox since its release (or very shortly after) my good mate has had it now for a while for his 360. But even though ive had my xbox for just over two years now with absolutly no faults what so ever a number of my friends have had to replace their 360 consoles sue to the infamous red rings which is the one plus i give to the ps3, and another point i had to agree from another persons comments are that the MS points for the 360 are a joke, paying a small fee for the internet i do not like that much but u cannot cpmplain at all for the reliabltily side of it, im not sure if the ps3 has many/any downfalls when it comes to its internet. and to cap it off with my love for the 360 in my opinion i feel that the ps3 slim is just another marketing joke set out by sony to reel in some more money from there ever faithul market.

I'm now on my 3rd 360, replaced under 3-year warranty (on it's way, not got it yet). First one ate 4 games at about £40 a time, leaving circular scores on them. Now have had 3 red lights of death ! 360 deserves only two "G rating" because of reliability !!!

I've mentioned in the PS3 section that i own all the current consoles and again, I will reiterate, I dont want to start a 'mine is better than yours' battle but I would stress that my opinion is that the 360 definately outclasses the PS3 currently. I am not going to rely on 'has beens' and what might happen in the future. In reality the online service for the 360, whilst costing a small fee, is far superior to the free PS3 online service. Microsoft really have this area cracked, it is unsurpassed. The GUI/dashboard is far better to traverse and navigate, in that it makes more sense, things are grouped together more effectively. Loading times from DVD are far better than Blu-ray and grphically, i dont think there is much to argue about. Both machines are capable of amazing graphics. Of course games made specifically for each machine will harness each formats strengths and unique capabilities and are not really ideal for comparison purposes. Currently the 360 has such a huge catalogue of games there is almost too much to choose from, the PS3 has not. However, I do believe that the 360 is nearing it peak performance wise, the PS3 is far from it. i think the landscape will change over the coming years ! In the mean time I guess we should all be thankful for what we have and resist looking over the fence to make negative comments unless they are qualified.

The Xbox 360's Updates are way faster and closer than the PS3, and downloads, my cousin was downloading a CoD:WaW demo and it took about 3 hours i tried it on the xbox and it only took when hooked up by ethernet about 10 minutes, i deleted it completely form the hard drive and donwloaded it using wireless, it only took 15 minutes, a way faster time than the PS3, Microsoft points arent a joke its more helpful for people that dont have a credit card. Also, i think the Xbox is on its way too getting an internet browser as were all ready getting Facebook, Twitter, Last F.M, And SKY Player. Abou the Game ring scratch the only way that can occur is if your Xbox is stood up vertically and if its gets knocked or wobbled same with RROD theres less chnce of it getting the RROD if its Horizontal as more Ventilation fans are open.

well this ps3 v 360 dabate will go on forever but heres my contribution...the xbox 360 is now fixed with no overheat problems. it is a bit loud at times but doesnt struggle to match the ps3 in gaming experience.the online is a more pleasent exeperience and i find that more people at skool and friend are on xbox. a lot of the epic titles are on it and for the money its a bargain!!!!the ps3 isnt rubbish just not as good for a whole gaming experience.thats my opinion and and respect it as i do yours.

If the ps3 is better than the xbox why does the psp go cost more than an xbox and nearly as much as a ps3? If the ps3's best features are full HD and Blu-Ray support, the psp go does not have as powerful hardware as a ps3. How is the price justified? The xbox has all exclusive uk gaming news on inside xbox etc. as apposed to the ps3 network which does not have uk reporters. Also there are first exclusives for the xbox like MW2 map packs to be released on 360 before ps3. Finally once paired with media centre on a windows 7 computer, you have a great media hub. *Ahem, can I also add facebook, twitter, and sky integration comming very soon? It's an all round entertainment, social, tv, news and gaming hub and thats why I prefer it.

Pros for XBOX. I like XBox live, ease of use, online speed and Xbox community. I use my XBox to watch DVD's sometimes. Demos download fast. I have had NO mechanical problems in 2 years. Unike some people, I don't play online for 6 - 8 hours non stop (remember this a console, not a £1000 + Alienware Gaming PC). Cons. Noisy cooling fans. no built in wireless. Xbox controller too heavy compared to my PS3 controller. Flimsy Door on front for USB Ports.You have to pay for XBox Live. (Free online gaming with PS3) Tried to contact Microsoft for billing problems and had to write to Customer Service when I didnt get a response. The official XBox Website not helpful at all. Would I buy another? Not until the next gen comes out. This console feels dated compared to PS3 Slim (quiet , blu ray and wireless)

I prefer this to the ps3 (although the eighty odd quid repair bill I'm shelling out for is not so good). The selection of games appears to be better, or at least more suited to my tastes but the main thing I like about this console over the ps3 is the controler. It fits the hand better, or maby thats just me, and the control sticks have a positive feedback to them compared to the lighter ones on the ps3, which allows for more acurate control.

I have both the xbox 360 and the ps3. The Xbox360 is definitely the better gaming machine, as it has the better exclusive games (only just though), better controllers, better online service and better graphics (Ps3's only display the actual games in 720p (check the back of the game boxes) whereas the xbox360 displays 1080p. I have both running through HDMI cables too!). The ps3 is soooo much quieter than the xbox360 which makes it better for watching films on and it feels better made, plus the menu system is better on the ps3. However I would still recommend the xbox 360 over the ps3, as it is the one console that I spend most of my time on (I have over 23,000 xp points).

BTW ps3 is twice as powerfull and 2 times faster than the xbox 360 because it is a 2 teraflop console whilst the xbox 360 is only capable of 1 teraflops. As for graphics MGS4 is the best, xbox 360 has nearly maxed out. And xbox live is a ripoff u got to pay for lag lol, i have never experienced lag on my ps3 its a thing of the past.

I buy the best graphical games and that led me to buying a ps3 plus uncharted 2 got 24 perfect reviews, and halo reach which has been stated by microsoft and bungie is using 100 percent of the 360s power and it looks like halo 3, so basically when i bought my 360 in 2007 i had already maxed it out lol. ps3 is twice as powerfull as the 360 cus it is a 2 teraflop console whilst the 360 is only 1.

xBox 360 Home media All In One box as the main center of our room. Film, games music. e.c.t. Games of course have done well. Films. are some what slow. The choice is so what limited and the value for down loads is still over priced. Much ! cheaper to join a DVD rental and rent a film. Rental works out to be £1.00 a film per month with the top package. Yet the xBox 360 are asking for around £5...£6 per HD film/ WHY!!!!. Music. I have down loaded quite a lot of CD's to my xBox 360, but feel let down by the limited menu and the overall qaulity from the xBox. sound. The menu is still a complete waste of time and the sound is shame full if that.. I wish xBox 360 staff could for 2 months use the xBox 360 to play down loaded CD's too. I am sure that they would come to the same results as me...

Judging by the incredibly shoddy punctuation, grammar and spelling of some of the comments above I can pretty much guess the age range of the people posting... Therefore you're probably all too young to appreciate that there has ALWAYS been tit-for-tatting in the world of consoles and personal computers: ZX Spectrum vs Commodore 64, Atari ST vs Amiga, Nintendo vs Sega Genesis to name but a few. The point is, each console has their own positives and negatives. I personally own a 360 and I love it. It's not just a gaming console, I can stream my entire music and HD movie collection from my Windows 7 PC, I can watch Sky Player, I can tweet, I can get the latest game demos and access a huge range of arcade games. Frankly, it's the hub of my home entertainment and I wouldn't be without it... Not too bad for a 37 year old! As far as the PS3 is concerned, you can do pretty much the same things as I've mentioned above, barring the odd feature such as Sky Player. So we're down to graphics and gaming support as the key deciding factors on which console to get. Personally, I'd always recommend a 360, partly due to price and connectivity to Windows 7 (Microsoft make both don't they?!) but mainly due to Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, epic multiplayer and a fantastic laugh split screen with a mate. Oh, and Project Natal is coming too....

I use to have a playstation and that was shocking, the online was appauling I could not join friends game lobby's and it struggled to find Cod 5 lobbies even though I had a very strong connection. So I changed to an Xbox 360 elite and I can really tell the difference. The graphics are just as good if not better and the online services are brilliant!

i find that overheating is down to playing for too long. i have found a few ways to make it work for longer before it overheats: - make sure the AC adaptor (the small box with the light on it) in the open, basically not against a wall or down behind anything. under a window is a good one - lie the xbox down instead of it standing up, because there are vents on both sides it helps create more of a ventilation system - put the xbox near a window or where there might be a draft, this also helps with ventilation all three of these methods work because me and my friends have seen improvements in gaming time

I don't know why so many of the people above me are talking about the xbox over heating but there are some serious problems with the PS3 as many have broken but are not covered by a lenthy warrenty like the xbox. I think that the xbox is a much better console as i own both and think that the online that you get with the PS3 is good but is not as fast as the xbox.

Xbox's are so much better than PS3's! I mean better online, better games, and the graphics are about the same (although I play mine with a HDMI cable so I think Xbox graphics are excellent!) About the noisy hardrive, it's not even that loud, I don't get bothered about it even when im watching a movie. Cheaper, better games like halo 3 and soon to come out... HALO REACH!! The only good games on PS3 are MAG and Little Big Planet. The online is no where near better and the console is over priced!

The only fault with the Xbox would be that you have to pay for live and £60.00 if you want a wireless adapter (Which I don't use, I use Ethernet) Apart from that It's way better. Oh and if anyone here has Halo 3 ODST, I need good people to do endure with me because its the last vidmaster I need until I get recon. You forgot to mention, although they do have a 3 year warrenty, if the console overheats after 3 years, you have to fork over £80 just to have it repaired. Shouldn't matter if it's 3 years of 30 years, they sold us a faulty device, if they weren't a huge coporation, it'd be the same as buying a dodgy DVD player from, a back alley I love the 360 but only because of amount of games that are xbox-only, if all my fave 360 games could be played on ps3, I'd have a blast smashing up that useless faulty waste of money. Not to mention unless your 360 is right next to a connection, you need to buy even more money for their wireless connection. It's just one cheap trick to steal more money after another. ps3's only problem is not as many games.

I am new to the Xbox 360, I do all of my gaming on my PC, but one came along with the RROD very cheap so I decided to buy it to see what I could do with it. I build my own computers and do repairs for friends. I am not going to go into which console has the best graphics/sound/online experience etc etc, because that would be down to the individual user, and besides which I dont have another console to compare it to except a WII. What I can say though is that I have never come across such a badly designed and badly built machine, and I have worked on Fiats! how Microsoft can justify matching the DVD drive in the machine to the motherboard via a key beggars belief. This company is not a bunch of idiots, they would have known that the graphics chip would have problems, which may involve mainboard replacement in testing, so why make the expense of mainboard replacement even more due to having to replace the DVD as well? Obviously they have set the copyright protection in the drive itself instead of on the board, and making it so that any drive could be installed in the machine would mean that the copyright wouldnt mean squat, which is the wrong way to do it! Then we get to the backward compatibility, or rather lack of it. If you put an Xbox game into a 360 without a hard drive, it tells you that the console requires a hard drive to play original Xbox games, So out you go and buy a nice shiney hard drive, only to have the machine tell you that the game is not compatible to the 360, and that you should visit the Xbox site to see if there is a chance that something else could be done to play the game. Why didnt it say that in the first place, instead of saying that all you needed was a drive? I would imagine that Mr Gates was laughing his socks off when the Xbox team told him about this one. I have never been anti-Microsoft, until now, but this machine stinks of the company seeing how far it can go to rip off the customer. they seem to have transfered their paranoia about pirating from Windows into this, and have made protection of their product at the top of the list of requirements instead of customer satisfaction. The original Xbox was a damn fine well made machine, and that legacy has been spoilt with the 360. I just hope they do better next time.

I love the Xbox 360, I have a 2008 model and I remember when I was getting it my friend was trying to convince me to save the extra money and get a PS3 so we went through all the good and bad points and the Xbox's good points out weighed the PS3's so much that he had to even mention how the PS3 had smaller packaging for the disc cases than xbox so it is better for the enviroment, so, I got the Xbox naturally.

i had an xbox 360 20gb it was good untill i got error 74 message , (if an one had an error 74 , you know what it is , anyway i send of micsoft after phone calls and internet, and week late they send it back not fix, because i open it see if i could see what was wrong , i seen the message in a book you get dont open it, so i so micsoft i never got a new xbox 360 sold all my games and controller and other, 2 year i had 360 , so people dont open it if you get an error,

I have a Xbox 360 with 120Gb which allows you to save the games to the hard drive which then means when you put the game in to play its a lot quieter......the plus side to the quietness means no overheating......no overheating means lots more fun playing the console without having to send it away to get it repaired..... cant wait to get the new Xbox with the 250Gb HDD and connect it to Kinect when it get released :)

what is all this rubbish about the ps3 being better? sony are complete copycats of microsoft,as the xbox came first. The ps3 is just a shinier, quieter version of an xbox 360, yet it has nowhere near the xbox's gameplay,online an hd graphics capabilities. the ps3 is just sony's excuse to sell a console with insufficient features, for a ludicrous price.

Its good to say that milions of people still buying xbox 360 rather then the ps3. You get more for your money and the xbox live online is excellent. Xbox itself has bit of the problem many problems occur like the RROD (cooling problem) and its bit glitchy some other time. I hate that microsoft has made this console cheap with cheap hardware off windows 200. I like playing with my friends online its easier to play with them on the xbox then the ps3.

ive been on both xbox and ps3 and overall i prefer the xbox (this has nothing to do with the fact i own one ;] haha) one thing i think is a major down side to ps3's is how long it takes to update everything. I know this could depend on internet speed but it still is a large amount of time compared to xbox updates of the same kind. One thing i especially like about xbox's is the dashboard, its got everything in a nice accessible layout and is much more user friendly than the ps3's. Everything else is really good like graphics etc. To sort out the loud fan noise on games just install the game to your hard drive, it vastly reduces the noise. The one thing that really seperates the two though is the fact you have to pay for xbox live, although if you look in the right places its not so bad its not free like psn but ps3's do cost alot more than xbox's. BUY A XBOX !

awesome console, I have an elite and I got it when it first came out. Had an issue once with the graphics card however it was under warranty and Xbox were brilliant with the response. They picked it up and delivered the console for free and with that gave me a one month Xbox live free redemption code to make up for lost playing time. Awesome console would recommend it to anyone.

i will probably never go back to playstation, i think they are slowly losing battle with xbox, unless they bring out something special. If the xbox was more reliable, had a blu-ray player and online was free, the xbox would wipe playstion of the market. I've got to admit though i love buzz and singstar and xbox's attempt with scene-it and lips is very poor, they are just not as fun and scene-it is boring. The new slim black xbox is brilliant but they could of made the power lead pack quieter as well and added a blu-ray player. As for xbox live i think its all overpriced. Despite all of this i think overall the xbox is the best gaming console on the market

X-box has 1 properly decent exclusive game (halo) ps3 has 6 (killzone 3, uncharted 2, metal gear solid 4, little big planet 2, gran turismo 5 and god of war 3) all of which are a variety of games whereas x-box is only suitable for 1st person shooters as forza 3 is uconparable to gt5 and they have no platformers or action-adventures that can compare to ps3s might. I'm sorry Jacob Dawes but ps3s are so much better.

i have been doing research for about the last month with the two consoles from the graphics to the CPU and the mother boards and my conclusion is that the PS3 is better i am not just another game fans because i don't even have the consoles i borrowed them of my friends for testing i tested the ps3 slim and the Xbox elite (they were used models but that the idea to see how well they would work after being used)

ok ive got to admit the blueray is the only way ps3 exceeds xbox but graphics wise they are on equal terms blueray only allows more memory not better graphics (unless somehow your tv is better than 1080p) xbox has better games, better online service and yes now and then 360s break but atleast microsoft will repair them even if you have to pay £80 renewal of the warranty unlike sony with that issue on the 60gb hard drives where you had to buy a new console and as for this internet browser only on ps3, if you go to the windows media center on the dashboard then you'll find one there after a short download.

I had 4 of these and within 1 year all of them broke due to overheating, had a ps3 for about 3 years and upgraded it to a 500GB hard drive and it runs perfectly fine it even sounds quieter than before. the only thing is that yes the on-line isn't as good as the 360 but ours is free so you get what you don't pay for.

Guys who say that the PS has more exclusives please do your research first. You could even look at wikipedia and you can see that the 360 has more exclusives over its lifetime. And whoever said Halo is the only decent exclusive that is not true. Forza is very comparable to GT5 and I can`t seem to remember the last time I saw a PS version of Fable... With all that said it is down to personal choice at the end. Some buy the console because they prefer the make and some because the line of games. For me it was the games. And last but not least those who are saying the online on the PS is better, well where is your hacked PSN now :D Oh and you better cancel your credit/debit card while you're at it. With MS points I don't even need to give away my card info. Enjoy.

Firstly if anyone says that the PS3 isn't as good as an Xbox then they are terribly wrong, the PS3 comes with built-in Wi-Fi, and late models of the Xbox dont and as well the PS3 looking better and coming in higher GB models than the Xbox it has Blu-Ray built-in and 3D as a Bonus. SONY have worked very hard to beat there rivals Microsoft, and they certainly did! If your a gamer looking for a new console, then this is certainly the one for you, you can do anything and more, on a PS3.

My Xbox 360 S version(newest)had never overheated,and if you install the games(I installed all my games),the xbox doesn't make any noise,so it doesn't overheat!:)
