GP2X
The basics
The GP2X handheld games console can also play music, ebooks, games and DivX movies on its 320x240 backlit screen. A scaling chip means films don't need re-encoding, while the SD Card slot allows for easy transition of files. It's also got two 200mhz CPUs and 64MB of RAM.
The good
It’s a Game Boy, it’s a Mega Drive, it’s a Super Nintendo – it’s a big fat bag of retro gaming goodness you can delve into at will. This Linux-powered lovely lets you revisit the early years of videogaming with emulators for virtually every 20th Century home computer and console (yes, even the Amstrad). Games load up easily via USB or SD card, with a teeny touchscreen and plasticky 8-way pad to complete the nostalgia. Comes with a nifty media player and a few homebrew games built in.
The bad
Build quality is on the wonky side of acceptable and no one but no one will mistake the ugly GP2X for a stylish Ninty. The GP2X can be hard to find in shops now – eBay is your best bet – although the long-rumoured GP2X Wiz successor, with a faster processor, more memory and OLED screen should be arriving soon.
The bottom line
A treat for fan boys and little boys, the GP2X’s basic gaming and home-made charm might soon wear off for anyone over the age of ten though.

my cousin has got one but within the first week, the screen had an unrepairable crack across the screen. Good job he didn't like it much.
