normally use windows xp on a desktop and laptop but decided to experiment with a macbook. Easy to use--but I'm probebly not getting the full use of all facilities. Positive features are ergodynamics, tremendous wi-fi access with safari, bluetooth and portability makes synchronisation with mobiles easy--especially good for diary. Negative features are a dull screen, lack-lustre colour and the machine is to small. Office (for mac) does'nt have the same feel as on windows. Lastly--those constant updates!!!!!!!!!Everytime I turn it on it needs to update some program.

Bought the new 13inch Macbook Pro, and I love it, I work with Windows based machines everyday coming home and using my Macbook is such a joy. OSX has its problems but with its easy of use compared to the many different versions of Windows (98,XP and Vista) I'm willing to but up with a few small bugs on this beautiful machine. Fantastic crisp screen quality, backlit keyboard and smooth touch pad mouse, what more do you need?

Sorry Bob, but if you have a dull screen then you've got a VAIO or summin and if it updates everytime you use it then you don't use it at all. The Macbook is perfect in every way and it's got a full size keyboard and HD screen so how is it too small it is certainly as big or bigger than any other.
Report as inappropriatemattdemaniac15 August 2009
Bob you can run windows on a mac using Boot camp if your desperate to have it on there! there that you should sort out your compatibility issues - the screen is far better than most computers! other than the sony vaio aw series which has 3leds in the display and has a full hd display with a HDMI port (without a stupid adaptor!)

It's an exceptional piece of tech not only a fantastic design but it's so simple to use. It does everything it's supposed to do without any fuss. The OS makes windows based tech seem so antiquated, buy one!

I moved to mac when os 10 came out and would never move back to windows! Easy to use and not had one single problem in 5 years, never had any bugs! Im only changing mine to a new one as I need usb2 for the I phone. Moved my dad across 4 years ago as i had constant problems with him ringing me! if he does get a little stuck i get him to take his hands off while i log on to hi within seconds. I have used this every day and if it does a run a little slow its easy to clean up in around 5min. You get what you pay for!

As a gamer, I'd never buy this load of bull. The laptop I use now is 100times better and alot cheaper. It's seems to me that this macbook is sold between £900-£1150, though the one I'm using is £700, with longer battery life, bigger screen, better graphics, already compatiable with all PC games, with the built in wi-fi and bluetooth. To be honest the macbook is over priced, and over-rated

Best gadget I've ever owned. Easy to use, reliable and fast. Makes my previous laptop look and feel so old fashioned. Also has the added bonus of being a bit of a style icon and just looks good sitting there waiting to be opened.

Read these coments and some are a bit off! Bought a 13" macbook a few weeks ago and love it. Only took a few hours to find my way around, and get used to the @ key being where the " key is. Read coments about a bad screen but it is the best I have seen. Very clear and bright colours with great sound. Thought it might be small, I'm used to 15" laptops but 13" is great, A good size and excellent keyboard. The software is amazing. iPhoto and iMovie are easy to use and give great results. I would recommend a mac to everyone, already saving for an imac for the home. The only downside is the price £899 for a netbook! come on Apple, drop the prices and lets make a huge impact on microsofts stronghold.

I've owned a MAC for several months now after being a PC user for 20 years. I am very impressed with the software and the machines are so stylish. In truth, they are over priced and I've had a few hardware issues with other Mac products. But overall, I have 100% love for it. It's true what they say: Once you go MAC there's no going back!

I bought this computer a month ago and i love it. The sleek sexy design and brilliant keyboard design leads to a fantastic product. The Screen resolution is superior to any computer i have ever used. I am normally a windows user and was slightly sceptic about moving to a new operating system because i could get a windows machine to sing and dance and now i am a novice :( lol. I would never go back to windows computer and the amazing touchpad should be incorporated to all computers. :)

Following a disastrous “windows 7” upgrade I decided I had enough of windows and purchased my MacBook Pro 13. WHAT A MACHINE! Gorgeous and fast are just a couple of things that hit me first. Like many I use windows daily for work and logging onto my MacBook when I get home is an absolute joy. Adding my printer, no problem didn’t even tell me just did it. Printer Done! Adding my 3g dongle a couple of agreements later, Dongle Done! Connected my i Phone opened i tunes, i Phone connection Done! What an experience to take a laptop out the box, it sets it’s self then working within 10 mins no drama!

After some 15 years of using a PC I decided I was sick to death of the crashes, speed and constant windows updates, not to mention the virus scanner running in the background. I took the plunge and bought a mac book, and its is like coming home! Truly an amazing piece of kit after only 2 months use I am converted, and will never, never buy another windows PC... You will not regret it!

as you can tell by the name i'm an apple freak. i started out with a PC, but was sick of all the difficulties that occurred when faced with a very simple task on a PC. i decided to get my first mac about five years ago and i'll never go back. everything about them is perfect down to the last pixel on the screen.

I bought a MacBook a few weeks back after finally losing patience with Windows and PC's. I waited for the release of Windows 7 to bring back my faith in PC's but found it to be a big fat let down. At the end of the day it's only the OS that Vista should and could have been at launch. As with every other version of Windows far too much time is spent trying to get it to run smoothly rather than actually using it for its primary purpose. This couldn't be more different with the MacBook. As Apple's slogan does state 'everything just works' but I wasn't expecting it to be so true. Initially I found myself feeling a little bit redundant and looked for problems to fix but I soon realised I was enjoying using the Mac more than any PC I had ever owned. The joy of computing on something this slick is a revelation. I liked the MacBook so much I gave it to my wife and went straight out and bought a MacBook Pro. Blimey it's even better! The design of these machines really is something to behold. Computers have never been this beautifully made. The unibody design, the screen, the touchpad, the keyboard, the speed and functionality of OSX, the battery life and so many other nice touches combine to produce a totally stunning product. I have the Mac versions of all my favourite applications installed making the move from PC even more seamless. I can't say enough good things about the Mac and I genuinely can't think of any negatives. I will NEVER go back to Windows and PC's that's for sure.

I LUV MY MAC!!!!! Its an amazing peace of technology. Because it is a different setup to normal PC's it takes a little longer to get used to and certain software isn't (as far as i know) available e.g. paint. also the word software is a bit basic but apart from this the macbook is such a goo peace of tec. i would recommend it for creative people as the software for photo's and movies is amazing and can look professional.

I absolutely love my MacBook, wouldn't ever go back to getting a PC again. The only thing I wasn't impressed is the bluetooth for the Mac and the Iphone/Itouch you cannot connect them together - I can connect my cheap skypephone but not my Iphone........ you'd think Apple would have made them compatible rather than having to run Itunes

I must say, I do love my MacBook Pro, it is amazing! So much better than any Windows computers that I've ever seen, It manages to have LOTS of windows open and the same time and it doesn't seem to 'lag' the performance... And it's only got 2GB of RAM and a 2.26 GHz dual core processor! It's amazing! Goodbye Windows!!!

The trackpad is amazing 1,2,3 and 4 finger swipes giving different responses. Really chuffed I finally gave it a try and feel I will be sticking with this for a long time.

Report as inappropriateAnonymous02 November 2010
@ Jason - yeah, I wouldn't call the MacBook midrange either. While I am a Mac fan and I absolutely love my MacBook, there are a couple of things that bug me. It's a little over a year old now, and the mouse pad/buttons don't work as well anymore. Basicaly, if I want to click on something, it might well take three attempts until the button reacts at all. I went to the shop to ask someone about it and apparently it happens quite a lot. And costs a good chunk to get it fixed. The other thing is that the computer doesn't seem to be earthed properly. When it is plugged in and you touch it and someone else, they get that feeling of a current running through it. There are certain areas of the computer, which are actually sore to touch, because the current feels so strong. Has anyone else had that problem? I'd be interested to know if it's just me - I do have this great ability to pick the one gadget that is technically a bit quirky...
