Bye Bye Standby
The basics
The Bye Bye Standby is an energy-saving devise that cuts off the power to plugged devices when they're not in use. Saving power has never been this easy; simply place the devise on top of your electrical outlet and you're all set to save energy. Economical and environment-friendly, this devise indeed says 'bye bye' to power consumption costs.

Doesn't the remote control device itself consume a small amount of power, equivalent to standby power. Isn't is lazy. Just get up off the sofa, walk over to the tv/hifii/game console etc and physically switch it off.
