Samsung UE46C8000 3D TV
The basics
The ultra slim and stylish Samsung 46 8000 3DTV is an LED telly with internet skills via its Internet@TV platform for instant to services including LOVEFILM, BBC iPlayer, Twitter, Youtube and more. Its gorgeous silver finish and metal bezel lets it stand proud as the centrepiece of your home cinema set-up. There's even an optional TV camera for video calls via Skype. Around the back you'll find four HDMI connections, two USB and two Scart connections.
The good
Samsung’s 46-incher does 3D very well, with the TV’s motion processing tech pitching in to help deliver images that aren’t beset with the same level of ghosting or crosstalk we’ve seen on some 3D LCDs. Samsung’s 3D active shutter glasses also work well, and the 3D picture is nicely bright and lively when viewed through them. 2D pictures are detail rich and vibrant, with good motion handling and little noise.
The bad
The edge LED backlighting has been designed to replicate the contrast-boosting effects of a direct LED backlit TV, but while it delivers better black response than most edge LED models, it doesn’t really work to the degree we were hoping for – so this TV doesn’t produce the best blacks out there. Its audio is also a tad disappointing, lacking beefy bass during movies and music playback.
The bottom line
A very good all-rounder, packed with features and a star with 3D – but lacks the black level performance to go down as a must-buy.

Thinking of buying one of these more for 2D and overall looks! Treating 3D as a nice extra feature

Just bought one of these if you are interedted look at John Lewis grabed my self a great bargin. (the tv a blue ray player and a pair of glases all for £1889.95) GREAT!!

I have a Samsung 40 LED 3D TV and its great .. works good with Sky progs and the video content on blu-ray although limited at the moment looks fantastic..

I was an early purchaser and it Wows my friends. I have 2pairs of rechargeable glasses a 3rd battery only pair ( dealer and Samsung free issue), Recommend the Sony S570 3D player with it and you have a fab and future proof system. Connect to good quality 5.1 Audio system and use Quality HDMI cable too! Fab picture on both freeview and freesat where HD material is stunning, 2D to 3D conversion is one of the best and needs to be too, given poor choice of 3D Blue Ray out there.
