iPod Shuffle
The basics
The iPod Shuffle has been getting smaller and more minimalist with each iteration, at least until the latest model. You'll now find a set of control buttons on the device itself (again), but has it made for a better device?
The good
The additional controls on the new iPod Shuffle mean you'll be able to pause, skip and rewind through all your music, without having to resort to remote control based buttons.
Despite being more squat than the previous iPod Shuffle, Apple's latest wonder remains every bit as slender, and usability is better than ever. The clip is easier to use, making the Shuffle the perfect device for exercise fanatics.
It's also tougher than most of its rivals, thanks to the now familiar anodised aluminium finish, and it's available in a range of vivid colours.
The bad
Unlike the slightly bigger iPod Nano, you won't be able to select individual songs over playlists – as there's no screen on the Shuffle. Apple has binned the earphone-mounted controls, so you'll have to pay extra if you want buttons closer to your ears. At 2GB, capacity is also somewhat limited.
The bottom line
A stylish, well made and incredibly small music player, you'll like the iPod Shuffle if you're after a bargain MP3 player for your daily workout. If you want an extra bit of control or more storage, however, it's worth looking at the new iPod Nano.

I really like the iPod shuffle. It is perfect for use while exercising or on the long, boring commute to work. It is a great size and still has a big enough memory to hold your favourite songs. And if you could get one for free then even better! Visit http://www.freegiftwarehouse.co.uk and get one yourself, then let us know what you think. Matt
