Just bought this model, not ony does it double the capacity of it's predecessor but adds voice control to music playing (just say "play music by ......." and it responds - "playing music by......". Add to that, in line controls on the earphones for play, pause, skip forwards/backwards and volume and you have an instant winner. If only the Iphone had this kind of storage available. It's almost all your gadgets in one device. Brilliant !!!!

Good device the iPod touch. For people who want a good Music player, Apps and internet. This is quite a good gadget! I have one and i mostly use it for the games/apps!

Brilliant would recommend to any one, it has good quality music, excellent apps and a good video/movie player & picture viewer. Good value for money, i have 208 song & 4 hours worth of video & 356 pictures and still have around 10gb left! It would make an exellent Christmas present...

I am hopefully geting one of these for xmas I have read reviews on them. I thought the voice control setting was only on the iphone but from what I have read you guys say its on the i touch is that only on the 32gb and 64 gb?

If you want to listen to music in the lowest quality possible, buy an mp3 player. This has done more to ruin quality music reproduction than the compact cassette did. eg. take a cd (700Mb of data) squash is down and throw away hundreds of Mbs of data and you have an mp3 format file. At 320kbps (maximum mp3 quality) the cd data is now only 140Mb. What has happened to all that data, and that's not where it ends because most mp3 players are not used with the highest level of quality that an mp3 format can produce, they are normally used at 128kbps or lower which results in a file size of 63Mb per cd. That is 91% of the data thrown away, and it's no wonder that the quality of mp3 is so bad. Unfortunately this is killing the appreciation of good quality music reproduction for the younger generation because they don't know any better and its produced a generation of people who only listen to boom-tizz reproduction. To put the icing on the cake, some sound engineers are being forced to engineer the reproduction of music to cater for the poor quality units being listened to on the street to try and combat the ambient street noise and ruining the cd quality as well. Thank goodness that they aren't doing that for serious music (non-pop). Where will it end, a piece of string and two bean tins.

I'm about to buy the 8gb model of the itouch, just been looking around for the cheapest on-line that I can get but with delivery etc it works out pretty much the same at the apple store , where at least on there you can get it engraved which I think I will opt for now. I do think it's quite pricey for what it is but I've gone for cheaper mp3 players in the past and they just don't compare, there are a few models of something online being passed off ad itouch's but they aren't i have something similar to that and although you can get mp4's wma and mp3's on them the most irritating part is the use of the touch screen and the fact you don't have any software to use with it, you can't make play lists from existing music you have to create folders to do so. Having had an old skool ipod in the past I think it's the best choice for size and all round ability. You can git WMA on there but you have to convert them first, i choose not to use the i store for buying mp3's i use amazon that way you can actually use them on any other mp3 player you have an your not limited to having the files as ACC files. All in all I think if you can afford the i pod, go for it, you don't have to have the touch as the new nano is just as good just lacks the swoosh interface

Hate it. Maybe it's b/c this is my first Apple product, but I can't get over some of the glaring defects. Just a couple being: carrying around a 32gb storage device that won't let me store documents on it is unbearable. Also, for a media player to devote all it's screen surface to album artwork, then not even bother to load it from my library is just unbelievable. I find myseslf scrolling through hundreds of pages containing one giant musical note, squinting at tiny text to find the album i need. Hat this not been a gift, I would have returned it for a refund. :-(

I have the old generation 8gb ipod touch. it's very good, but the screen isn't that sensitive, so using a stylus doesn't work. The battery life is ok, but the games run it down a lot. but get marshmallow headphones. much more comfy!

I have the 3G 64Gb version & I love it (bought new on eBay for £206). It has been jailbroken which means I have access to all the software I could possibly want. The only things I would like extra is a camera & built in microphone.

It is very seductive with web browser, Wi-fi etc and more ability to download a beer rinkng app BUT if you want it to sound good.............spend serious money on some decent ear buds/cans and get a Cowon J3 and love your ears. Personally I have both as they are works apart but need both in my life. The itouch is untouchable for user interface, it just does everthing so well............all except the quality of the mp3 player. Eek ! brash 128kbps files are coarse and grate. Audiophiles look elsewhere as Apple have some catching up to do in this dept. The Cowon sounds gorgeous but is clunky, unintuative and has less feature BUT low compresion files have a big soundstage and let you enjoy the music. There is room in my world for a little Apple love.................but 'itunes', here i draw the line.
