Fantastic piecew of kit, not cheap for mulitple rooms but is simple to set up and use . I now have it set up in 5 rooms and on the patio. Only issue has been around a conflict with my N router and Sonos, if using a G router you will have no issues. Internet radio and napster gives a massive range of music you can play, with different music in each room if you wish and can be used as an alarm! Had Sonos for about 18 months and still amazed how good it is. Hope this helps

For a whole house setup its not so expensive. Its fantastic and the setup is so so easy, it is the BEST I have ever encountered. (and I work in IT!) The itouch remote software is equally amazing. The Napster music service is awesome. I have 4 units, 2 remotes covering the whole house. I love IT. I have tried other options and nothing comes close, and nothing else is worth bothering with!

Sonos is fantastic. Simple to set up, even easier to use. Stream from PC/ Server or NAS, or even better use a Napster subscription and stream from over 8 Million tracks online. Old style controller works fine, but the new touch screen looks great. Alternatively use i-pod touch or i-phone. 5* device

Just done a 3 zone setup in the house with 2 x S5 speakers, Zoneplayer 90 and the bridge plugged into the router. Ipod touch used as an controller. Fantastic piece of kit streams music and more. Got the x box 360 connected to it for xbox live, view my photos from the pc on the lounge tv and it can stream the tv sound all over the house. Cant wait to add more zones.

Have pined for a sonos system for ages ever since a mate set up his playstation as his media hub. Well I'm glad I waited it is magic! Being able to access all of my music from a computer upstairs feels very cutting edge...I'm using the Vortexbox free media software which seems awesome but took a while to get setup correctly. It's worth remembering that sonos can get hundred's if not thousands of internet radio stations aswell as last fm etc. Pricey but worth it - got the whole SONOS 150 bundle from richer sounds for £499. Shop around.

for me this is a quality surround sound multi media system. In my house we have 3 rooms with this system and all can get radio from anywhere in the world, weve listened to stuff in australia! also we in the kitchen we can link this sytem in with our tv for great surround sound for movies. We have the sonos software on our computer is easy to use, choose you song and drag and drop it onto the programme and you can listen straight away and there is a cable for plugging in you ipod, mp3, laptop etc.( i like this the most). Even though its the buisness, there are a couple of let downs. Firstly the installation, we had to get our electrician who was trained to install these systems and he took about a week also there isnt that great a bass system but that can be easily solved with a bass unit installed which is what we are going to do. all in all i think this is a great system for entertainment and i really enjoy it!

sonos is one of the cheepest ways of doing multi room in no way is this system expensive b4 sonos you could have a complex russsound system not that grate at what starting price about 5 grand or a linn system sounds grate but starting price around 8 grand £799 is dirt cheep for a too room multi system then around £400 a room to expand the system sound quality is fairly good its all about bit rate for sound quality and sonos is prity much in the middle along with the fantastic world radio facility and the ability to access all your own home music from a nas drive is brilliant new controllers are fantastic to all this and you can install it your self compared to the previus ones that requier dedicated wiering and a profeshonal instal at around £500 a day for 2 guys for lets say 3 days all ads up sonos is cheep at £400 a room and the facilitates are excellent line in is a grate feature too since you can hook up a sky box or such to it so if you have distributed sky you can access the audio through your sonos to

absoluty amazing worth buying one i got mine from a dealer in macclesfield "Robins & Hodgsons 71 Great king street SK11 6PN" also they had a great service they were really helpful and they set it up for me, and told me how to work it its not dificult like i thought it would be... worth the journy from Alderly Edge.

Having read your review of the Sonos system along with several others, I have to say that your 'bad' comments about difficulties in setting the system up are very over stated. if you can't press a couple of buttons then you've got a serious problem in life. Even getting Norton Firewall to let it through is very easy given the step by step instructions. the only comment that I would make to improve things is to say that music with very little or no compression improves quality noticeably if you are using your own music files so you may want to re-rip cd's in lossless format but this is easily overcome if you take it all the way down the line and use Napster. It's an excellent system.
