Ministry of Sound Media Streaming Internet Radio

The basics

Pre-loaded with Ministry of Sound tracks, this internet radio comes with two free downloads, is Wi-Fi enabled and has ten presets. It has two 3W speakers, a VFD display and aluminum casing and supports Real Audio, WMA and MP3 audio files. It also measures 125x390x143mm.

The good

House parties are great for finishing off weird bottles of spirits, but not so good for keeping delicate computers free of splashes of wine and cheesy footballs. The MOSAC150 allows you to hide your precious PC in a cupboard and stream CDs, MP3s or bonkers Brazilian pop stations to your dancing hordes. It’s got good sound quality, a tough aluminium case and a huge, classy display so you can tell what you’re DJing. The radio comes with three MoS tracks pre-loaded and two free downloads from its music site, and there’s an emergency FM tuner if your Wi-Fi link goes down. Nice.

The bad

While the meaty subwoofer does its best, a mere 10W of power is never going to rattle windows and set off car alarms down the street. Unlike many modern radios, there’s no input to hook up an iPod directly.

The bottom line

What the radio lacks in the sheer sonic power of its parent nightclub, it makes up for by not charging £7.50 for a bottle of Thames water. Smart, sexy and pretty good sound to boot.
