Monster Beats by Dr Dre Tour
The basics
In-ear isolating headphones made by cable maestros Monster. A distinctive flat cable (with gold plug) reduces tangling and uses a patented magnetic flux tube to cut interference. A choice of eartips and a carrying case is supplied.
The good
Why aren’t there more celebrity gadgets? If there were a Jensen Button sat nav, an Alistair Campbell BlackBerry or a Stephen Fry iPhone, we’d be first in line. Until then, these Dr Dre earbuds are a fine stop-gap, combining some serious design kudos with the kind of tip-top sonic precision that a hip-hop producer requires. The flat, fire-engine red cable slips smoothly out of tangles, while ultra-responsive drivers squeeze out lusciously crisp sonics, even at high volumes. Noise isolation is good, although not quite complete.
The bad
While this doctor does make house calls, he naturally prefers rap. Strangely, the Beats Tour doesn’t pump out as much bass as you might expect. The biggest problem with them, though, has to be their sheer size – it’s a struggle to get the inch-long buds inside your head without poking your brain. Ouch. At least there’s a wide selection of silicone tips and earpieces to assist your DIY neurosurgery.
The bottom line
Most celebrity stuff is rubbish. This isn’t. In fact, given the innovative tangle-free cable and crisp, precise sound, the Beats Tour has as much to offer classical and electronic music fans as it does its urban target market.

can i get them in ireland ?

@seanjones Ofcourse you can, there are plenty of online shops that ship globally. You may even be able to get these in a brick and morter store (at an obviously huge markup) as they have a huge marketing campaign behind them.

Beware of fakes. You should be aiming to pay around £120 for these (£150rrp). Much less and they are guaranteed fakes. Buy only from well known retailers.

Also there are two different types. If you have Iphone look out for the ones with controll talk as they have a inline remote like apple headphones.

My friend has a ever the ear pair of these head phones and they have amazing sound quality and look stunning, just a shame about the price!

Ive had quite a few in ear headphones, including Shure and Etymotic ER4S, but these wipe the floor with them. The sound is crisp and the bass is big, i currently have the ones with control talk. but beware of fakes, if its to good to be true forget it. Buy from reputable dealer and you will not be dissapointed

I had a voucher for the apple store and was hoping to do a bit of price matching but they had none in stock, later that day I saw them in an HMV at £119.95 but after being initially disappointed (poor fit on earbuds, nothing wrong with sound) with a pair of denon Ah c751"s I was not going to shell out that kind of doh when amazon sellers had them at £79 ish. SHOCK to follow amazon app on iphone offered more sellers form £45, "sign me up" They arrived quick smart and they do look and feel the part, after swapping earbuds got a good fit and true to form they have a good sound but as others have stated not heavy in the bass. I took advantage of the spare earbuds and fired them on the the old denons and BOOM, my dreams of bass were reborn. I only found myself in this headphone mess when a pair of sennheiser's I gave to my big sis as a gift went dead in one ear, (common problem I've heard) I felt so bad I surrendered my BOSE in ears (which I loved and she now loves) The bottom line is the BOSE are amazing, the DENON are now bass pumpingly brilliant and the tours by Monster "LOOK" great and sound ok, but remember if I'd shelled out the guts of £120 I would be sending them right back.

I love my beats. They look good and they also isolate sound brilliantly, very useful for blocking out other music in the car or even on the plane

After looking for something to replace the BOSE ear phones, I had bought 3 months ago (Rush buy on QVC) I knew the quality had to be better or at least as good as my Bose ones. The BOSE wasn't in the ear, This is something that I needed more than anything with commuting and people using those really bad iPod ones. The Beats appealed to me straight away withe design, I have read many reviews on these and others around the price range. I took the gamble and got the proper ones from Amazon, the first pair the left ear stopped working, I got a replacement 2 days later. The sound is excellent on them, I find you really have to push them in a lot when you are on the move, excellent on the train and very comfortable to wear. I would recommend these, just for the cable that doesn't get tangled up all the time.

It’s atypical that anyone in the music monster beats industry could stay relevant for three decades having only released two official solo studio albums—but yet, dr dre beats has seemed to do exactly that, ironically, beats by dr dre while sometimes staying behind the scenes.http://www.monsterbeatoutlets.com/

just to let people know these earphones are selling on amazon.co.uk for £18 off third party sellers so looks like a good time to purchase! i just ordered these myself simply because i wanted earphones to use for work, i use shure se530 earphones every other time but wanted to grab some cheap ones because i damaged the cable on my shures at work and had to buy a new extension cable, i was searching for earphones around the £20 mark and the best i could find was the klipsch x1 earphones and well... looking at the two these beats just jumped at me for that price considering that they should be £80 plus. i thought that something could be wrong like they might be fakes but i will be sure to get back to you guys if they arrive as fakes, i will know. but you dont get many fakes on amazon thats ebay territory. grab a bargain peeps they gotta be worth £18 quid just for the design.

I have the Beats IPOD dock and also the Beats sport in ear headphones by Dr Dre and Le bron. The sound is amazing. BUT beware of fakes. Only buy from a trusted retailer. John Lewis, Very.co.uk, Littlewoods.co.uk are part of the trusted sellers. Avoid Ebay where there are loads of counterfeit Monster Cable products being made. The Beats range is amazing, especially when you play about with the EQ settings on your device for more bass, treble to get the sound you want
