Jays a-JAYS One+
The basics
Jays makes some of the most impressive earphones currently on the market, with tiny earbuds like the q-JAYS proving smaller than any of its rivals. The a-JAYS One+ are the latest earphones to join the range, and they're a decent solution for your mobile phone at a reasonable price.
The good
The Jays a-JAYS One+ are the latest addition to Jays' in-ear headphone range. They look distinctive, with a hardwearing flat cord rather than the usual and more fragile round connection, and there's an on-cable handsfree kit built-in to let you make and receive phone calls on the move.
The Jays a-JAYS One+ is designed to work with a host of different phones and operating systems – letting you answer calls on the iPhone, Android handsets, Windows Phone devices and Blackberrys.
You'll find a range of different earbuds in the box with the Jays a-JAYS One+, and we found it easy to get comfortable while listening to music, with the earbuds doing a decent job of isolating unwanted external sounds.
Sound quality is more than good enough considering the price, with rich, warm sound reproduction, and plenty of bass. We found that there was no sign of distortion, even at higher volumes, although there was a little too much bass.
The bad
The bass from the Jays a-JAYS One+ can be slightly overwhelming, drowning out finer details in some of our music. Considering the price, however, the Jays a-JAYS One+ is a good all-round package.
The bottom line
We like the Jays a-JAYS One+, and it's a decent, affordable solution if you're in the market for a new set of in-ear headphones with an integrated hands-free kit.
