JVC GZ-MS100EX
The basics
The JVC GZ-MS100EX video camcorder features a Konica Minolta lens with a 35x optical zoom, a 6.8cm wide LCD screen, a auto focus mode and the one-touch Youtube button that allows users to directly upload their videos online. It also comes with an SD and HCSD memory card and is compatible with both PC and Mac.
The good
Brucey himself couldn’t ask for a sexier assistant than the sultry Everio. With its svelte (225g) waistline and 2.7-inch LCD grin, the MS100 records great-looking video to cheap-as-chips SD or SDHC cards (8GB costs around £15). A truly huge 35x optical zoom gets you scarily close to the action, although watch for camera shake during those extreme close-ups.
The bad
Don’t be fooled by JVC’s cheery ‘One Touch Upload’ to YouTube claim – unlike the Flip Mino, the Everio needs you to install (Windows only) software before you can entertain the world with clips of your budgie doing Sarah Palin impressions. Also, any device touting ‘Laser Touch Operation’ should have at least one laser, if not an entire surgical theatre full of them. Disappointingly, the MS100 doesn’t - it has some LCD-mounted touch-sensitive controls instead.
The bottom line
If you’re only shooting for YouTube, you might be better off with the budget Flip Mino, but this Everio offers so much more, including a tasty zoom, good low-light shooting and surprisingly sharp video. A solid state bargain.

i own this jvc camcorder and i find the Qaulity of video rather impresive and is good as an entry level cheap and chearfull Panasonic,JVC or Sony mini dv camcorder. but a downside is the Auto White Ballance as when it becomes dark in the evening the Auto White Ballance can get fooled. another thing i hate are JVC Lcd Screen which are a nightmare to clean as all the dust etc allways stay on as they keep on atracting static. all in all this camcorder is Great value for money.
