The basics

The Wildcat JX200 is six machines in one: a vegetable juice extractor, fruit juicer, seasoning mincer/chopper, meat/fish mincer, food mill, and sesame oil extractor (optional). It's easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble. It's a twin gear juicer, using medical-grade stainless steel gears and has a 200W motor.

I've been wanting to get a twin gear type juicer for while but simply could not justify the high cost of them generally. I was pleased when I saw the gadget show review which gave the Easy Health Wildcat duo (model JX200) such a high score. I tried to look around and could not find much info on it elsewhere but did manage to locate a few other retailers selling the juicer. The price of the juicer seemed to be too good to be true and I was quite sceptical about its capabilities, however, after finding a company (www.bevital.co.uk) who seemed to have time to explain in detail about this machine, I decided to get one. The first thing I would say about my new wildcat juicer is the black and orange colour combination is quite unusual but very attractive and looks really great on my worktop next to the sink. The second is that it is surprisingly really really quite, I've had several of the old style spinning basket type juicers which are very noisy and quite messy to use, so this was a pleasant surprise. The third and probably most important is the quality of the juice, it's smooth, pure tasting and much more fresh tasting when I compare it with my old juicer. There are a lot of people talking about cold pressed or enzyme rich juice now a days and I guess these types of gear juicers do that. The juice yield is also really good it seems to have a very small amount of waste pulp and it's much drier than my old machine, so I guess I am getting more juice for my money. I've been juicing just 1 apple and 2 carrots along with 2 sticks of celery and have been able to make just over a glass of juicer from these. I am able to get more juice from the same amount of fruit and veg I was buying before. I have also done some experiments with wheatgrass which I grew myself and although the machine juices it really well, I don't really like the taste of this grass juice. The apple and celery seems to agree better with me. Spring greens have been in the shops recently so I have been putting this in and noticed a definate increase in my energy levels over the last few weeks since I've been juicing daily. The final thing is cleaning, it's easier than my old juicer but if you do carrot in it, you do have to use the brush which it comes with to clean out the carrot fibres. Total cleaning is done in just a few minutes and much faster if you don't juice carrots. The user manual is clear and has a number of interesting recipes which I intend to try over the weekend, especially the fruit icecream and 'spicy peanut butter' So what is my overall rating of this juicer? Looks = 10/10 (Very attractive) Juicing = 10/10 (For the price I paid £229, its great value) Cleaning = 8/10 (If only it was self cleaning, but miles better than the old centrifugal one) Use = 9/10 I guess, as it's been able to juice everything I've put into so far with really good results. The only draw back I suppose is that you do have to search around to find people who sell it, but this could be because it's relatively new. I don't normally go for brand new items which have been recently launched, I like to see what people are saying about it first, but I guess that the review by the Gadget show was pretty conclusive. Out of all the machines they tested the Easy Health Wildcat Duo JX200 was the best masticating juicer scoring higher than the Samson, Champion, Green Power Kempo as well as all the other more expensive alternatives.

Nice Juicer, works really well with wheatgrass. Nothing close to it on price for twin auger machines, a bit heavy though.

I've had my Champion Juicer for about 5 years now and I still love it to bits.I juice hardy greens (kale, spinch, watercress) as well as the easy stuff. I've never had luck juice wheatgrass though and for this reason I've considered getting a juicer specifically for wheatgrass. I choose this juicer because my reserach showed that masticating juicers allow more of the nutrients to remain available via the juicing process of a masticating juicer. I bought one for my parents too - but I think they'd appreciate something easier like the AWT JE15 or Philips 1865 which allows you to throw whole apples in withough th need for chopping stuff up. I loved GS review on juicers. Every house should have one - maybe not the Champion 'cos it's bit pricey, but if you value your health, you gotta get a juicer (and organic produce!!)

Yogic Biker, There is a new wheat grass attachment for the Champion Juicer so it can juice wheat grass now. I can't wait to get one. The Wildcat has so many parts i'd rather stick with my Champion.
