The basics
Apple made a huge difference to the tablet market with its Apple iPad, and the Apple iPad 2 continues the company's dominance. It offers beautiful quality, a great screen and an even better range of applications.
The good
Without a doubt, the most impressive thing about the Apple iPad 2 is its build quality. Constructed out of a solid piece of aluminium, with a bright and vivid glass display, it's every bit the premium gadget.
We also love the operating system on the Apple iPad 2. Unlike rival tablets, there are loads of apps that take full advantage of the iPad's form factor, helping to turn the Apple into a genuinely useful device.
The iPad 2 is also a perfect all-rounder when it comes to performance and usability, offering a decent battery life, quick responses and the ability to play the latest games without lag.
The bad
The biggest problem with the Apple iPad 2 is its lack of ports. It's a shame that there's no USB port – making it impossible to easily hook up other devices without buying peripherals, and the need to use iTunes to copy your music across is also frustrating.
The bottom line
Despite its failings, we love the Apple iPad 2. The sheer quality and usability of Apples tablet makes it the choice of the field, with other products still lagging when it comes to apps, battery life or even build quality.

the best price for the apple ipad 2 is £399 from pc world on their website i just bought mine it is a ipad 2 white and 16gb wifi and i am getting free delivery just to let people know.

I've had my ipad2 for 4 weeks now even tho I had to wait 3 weeks for delivery,but was well worth the wait. After weeks of drooling watching the gadget show and watching you guys with your ipad2's it was simple lol I just had to have one.there is only one word to describe it and that's awesome lol,don't delay just go and buy one,you won't regret it ............

The best thing to happen to IT, Brilliant! Only drawback is the lack of flash media, you can hijack the software, this will void the warranty. A lot to lose at £399 just to put flash player on. Should be standard

I got a White 16Gb wi-fi model iPad 2 for my birthday and it's amazing, I would highly recommend it !!! Less at your hands, more at your fingertips :)

Spot on tablet , had it a month or so , lack of flash player a real issue , loads of sites use it , would also look at galaxy 10.1 when available , it's got to be a contender , don't underestimate the lack of flash player , you will wish you had it available . This seems to be typical of apple , similar issues I have with iPhone four , lack of blutooth download app for transferring contacts to non apple devices ... You have been warned ... Don't buy for the apple branding desirability... Look round and buy for the functionality . Other products are available!!!!!

Strange how the guys have given it 5 stars when you can't even play gadget show video's on the Ipad. Don't get me wrong ipad is good but not great. It does need to have flash support.

I really love my ipad2, at my age 49 I find it so easy to use, much better and more simple than using my computer. The very best thing that I like it fits nicely into my large bags, and it goes everywhere with me.the apps are great, what more can I day, well done Apple for being age friendly.

luxury.. comes at a luxury price. Slower than most new tablets, simple OS with no new features until IOS5 (rip off of many other os's) and not many "innovative" ideas coming from apple. Alternatives like htc flyer has a stylus to write notes on the screen. New android ones comes with honeycomb to, where ipad 2 is still this enlarged Ios :-/ not so great. i've had ipod touch 2,3 and 4 - great media players but really limiting OS... as usual from apple :-(

i am going to be getting a 64gb 3g model in december,and use it as my main computer,as it is very portable,lightweight,looks great which i like,im tryng to get work in photography,so my photographs will look good presented on it,and there are some great apps for it,and i like that it is compatable with iphone apps

The ipad 2 is amazing we have a 3g + wifi white 64gb and we love it. it does everything you want it to do. the only let down is the app store, eventhough the interface is amazing, you have to pay for many apps unlike the android store. APPLE FOREVER

Great review and great show. However, I find it pretty shocking that you can give the ipad 5 stars and yet fail to support it when it comes to your website. Even Adobe has abandoned Flash mobile - time to update your site guys!

No point complaining about it not having flash, flash makes it slow, if ipads had flash it would be your average tablet, you dont need it anyway ipads have thousands of apps to entertain you.

I have just got the iPad 2 for my 50th! The best present ever. I am fortunate enough to already own a iMac so am getting used to Apple software. My iPad is nearly full of music, Apps and movies and has not slowed in its performance at all. I love it. If I had to recommend anything I would tell all to instal IOS 5 on it ASAP it just blows everything else out of the market. I've always wanted to write so I will download 'Pages' and see how I get on.

Can i just state now that because the Gadget show has been brought out by PC world they gain a higher commision by offering the highest valued product, meaning by advertising the apple product of Ipad they are then raising the brand, although they found faults they do not wish to display these as the company is in apples hands. Wealth wise. Afterall apple is the main interest of Pc world.

I love my iPad just have one problem with the screen being easy to crack and the cost to fix it. Overall I wouldn't buy anything elce.

had my ipad 2 a month or so now and there is nothing i love more it makes my life so much easier and its just brilliant an amazing piece of tech the best deal around is on the 3 network its £25 a month for a 32gb ipad2 with 15 gb of 3g and wifi and even though people always moan how rubbish 3 is i strongly disagree they have come so far with performance and signal and i wouldnt choose any other network for my ipad!!
