I've had my HTC Hero for 7 months. It's been so durable and I'm quite clumsy with my phones. The 7 screens are so adaptable, the feel of the handset is fine and the lip design doesn't bug me at all. It is the poor-mans I Phone, but I don't think there is much in it, my partner often compares his I Phone to my HTC Hero, and whilst I don't win often, I do occassionally win. I love being able to have photos and any website favourites on my homes screens, the apps on both phones seem to be endless, my phone is much more tailorable and the fundamental phone sound quality is much better on the HTC. My few gripes are limited to the delay in the switch between horizontal and vertical when composing text messages and the fact that I can't see postal addresses on the pre-installed contacts screen.
Other than that, if you can't afford the I Phone, rest easy, don't feel like you're going to lose out, as the HTC Hero is here to make you feel you've made a much more sensible purchase, with no loss of functionality and you will still get your friends attention down the pub. Have fun with your new HTC Hero.
