Try madness interactive. Its just great fun and addictive, although the mouse can run off, making the downloaded version better than the rowser based one. Also look at adventure quest (www.battleon.com) dragonfable, AQ Worlds, Mech quest, anything in that whole series.

Quake Arena an amazing game a lot of us all used play online 10 years ago.The best online multi-player shooter of its time. Although you still have to download and install a small EI add on, I'm able to play it on my eeePC netbook(which is great). Best of all its FREEE! This game is still in Beta form but shows the power of the internet browser today and the real future of what on line gaming could be. I think it deserves to be number one in this format. Nice one J

They couldn't have done much research because Runescape is the most popular Free online multiplayer game in the world, it has been given guiness world record awards and the word "Runescape" is one of the top 5 searched for terms on youtube.

Runecape shouldn't be in the top 5. It's a good game but the free version is very restrictive. I also think that Bloons should replace Desktop Tower Defence as the tower defence game in the list. It's much more fun to play.

runescape suks i played it made a it a money above 5M bought d chain finished.. waste of time guys, well i lyk quake live i find it better than rs since i bought dragon and all dat but in quake u own pple better on quake!
