Love the show. Love the WebTV with Dionne. Lets get the good out of the way.
You guys have to do something about Jon.
What an old duffa! Aside from the fact that he really is getting a bit long in the tooth now to be presenting tech (and putting my mates off watching the show), his review of the Apple TV was just surreal. I've had an AppleTV since the first gen launched. I've been renting killer HD movies as my only mechanism for watching movies now for some time having sold my Blu-Ray.
I rent about 3-4 movies per week, and the streaming is not just great. It's faultless, I mean perfect. Picture quality is fantastic, and the frame rate never stutters.
I feel that the utilities that Jon uses are as stuttery as his presenting style.
Nuff said.
@GT, He maybe old but he knows what he is on about. You know nothing...no mkv or divx support makes Apple TV a limited device for those who want better quality movies.
I have a new Apple TV and like Jon my movie rentals won't work. I have a 20 Mb internet connection but I never had a problem with the old Apple TV. I'm taking my new one back.
I have had an AppleTV for three weeks now and have rented HD films with no problem at all - I suspect problems with John ISP of broadband connection.
I agree that the device is limited but I absolutely love it.
My media is already organised in iTunes so I stream tv shows, films, music and photos from my Mac to my tv set up - wonderful :)
If Apple TV2 is not working or slow downloading and starting a film, goto "Settings" then click on "General" and scroll down to "Reset", click on "Restore". This will take some time, so be patient. Also a new version of the software will be downloaded at the same time.
love web show keep it up Dionne.
watched the TV show last night it it just me or is the gadget show turning in to 'top gear' every week its a new challenge. it seems to be more about running about than gadget reviews. go back over the last three shows and count how many gadgets you actualy talked about (not counting the give a way as this is not a review) i think over a one hour show the count wont be as high as you think. after all the first section of the show was a phone app. and a scooter. try a show thats just reviews, a laptop for under £300 + £500, a camera for £100, £200 +£300,but always remember theres not as much money around.

Hi I find to get the best out of the new apple tv you really need to have a US iTunes account because you can rent tv shows on from a US account.
