The new MacBook Air laptops look absolutely gorgeous. A definite improvement on the last version and very well reviewed across the web.
Fantastic engineering, and a great marriage of hardware and software.
Gadget Show now has six presenters. Four are young and good looking, and the fifth thinks he is. The sixth is John Bently (sorry John), who is the only one that does good reviews! Come on Gadget Show - whilst we like a bit of fun, what we really really want is decent reviews. (Hint for the other 5 - tell us what is wrong with the item you are testing and how it compares with the competition, rather than just telling us the good bits).
Re RossBoss
The new MacBook Air starts at £849, Jon just chose to review the £999 model. Also, the sadly inescapable fact is that quality costs. Quality hardware and the innovation that goes into these products means that they cost more than if they were just 'me too' plastic laptops. Finally, they have two USB ports – not many I know, but more than one ;)
The new Macbook air looks good but sooner or later buyers are going to refuse to accept Apples compromises in favour of more usable and value for money products. Style will only triumph over function for so long. Apple are unassailable at the moment but, as history shows, this will only last for so long. Anntennagate could be signs that the cracks are beginning to show and Apples arrogance over the matter did nothing to enhance their reputation. Just under £1000 for almost a nerbook is way too expensive, good design or not.
I 've bought the 13" version and fully loaded it to replace a 17" Macbook. IT is awesome - every client who has seen it says it is mazing - unlike the 11" there is no compromise 2 USBs are fine, I'm driving a 30" monitor at work, as well as twin projectors, so it is a 100% fit for purpose laptop.
The processor may be low power at 2.3GHz, but it's actually faster than my 3.2GHz 17".
This isn't a home computer it's the first sensible lightweight lappie for professional business users.
love it!
I think apple are missing the point of what a netbook is about.Yes its small and compact, but its hardly good value for money at the price. You could almost buy four mass market netbooks for the price of even the cheapest macbook air.Netbooks are about being a affordable mobile solution, and the macbook air falls short of that by far.

why £999? why not £599 then more people would buy it. Plus it only has 1 USB port when a macbook pro and even a macbook white has 3!
