Whilst I was glad that Mrs Bentley used each of the boxes for a couple of days to test the useability it would have been better if Jon had mentioned something (anything) about eg the connectivity the boxes had, if they could record from other inputs (scart etc) and if they have 2 tuners. Useability is good to test but it is only one part of it.

I really enjoyed the freeview HD review. Is the gadget show planning on reviewing the Sony SVR-HDT500 500GB Freeview+ Digital TV Recorder which has just been launched?

I have the Humax HDR FOX T2 and it really is worth the money as it's a very good box and i've never had any problems with it. One thing not mentioned in the review is that it also acts as a media streamer as it can play files from other networked devices.

Please be aware that the Humax HDR Fox T2 suffers from HDMI synchronisation problems. This means that it is sometimes not detected by the TV when it is switched on. Humax technical support are particularly unhelpful, and give conflicting advice of when the next firmware operating system version will be available. One e-mail I received said that it would be April 2011, and the I received 2 more e-mails saying that they had no confirmed release date. This would be a good product apart from the buggy software releases and the unhelpful technical support.
