I agree with Jason here, 3D is just impractical when it comes to watching TV, it's a great idea in the cinema, just not great at home. I personally wouldn't buy a 3D TV. If you are inspired however by 3D I would Wait. Look at the way that Toshiba are making headway with their 3D, glasses free TV's. My favourite fight for 3D though is gaming. Nintendo's 3DS is so practical. I think that 3D has found it's home with gaming. The 3DS is practical as it doesn't require the average person to fork out all that money! The thing about gaming and 3D is that depth perception becomes useful. I think we'll find this ability to judge the distance of an object very practical =D perhaps those Prince of Persia/ Mario style jumps will become a little less 'awkward

i agree with jason, but not jus because of the price, but also as from what i have read and experienced, people with poor vision or lazy eye (like me), it doesnt work and if everything switched to 3d, people like me would be left out

I love 3D and side with John but think the problem for the home user is that for 3D to work at its very best, the screen has to be massive to immerse the viewer which works best with projectors. For average Joe its not going to happen anytime soon because of both tough economic times and that many households have yet even made the switch to HD!
