What in the world will be at Nokia World?
Nokia World kicks off on Wednesday. What delights can you expect?
Nokia World kicks off on Wednesday, and the big N’s been drip-feeding us tasty bits of news to keep us interested, from portable multimedia players to its very own cutesy netbook! But what exactly can we expect from the world’s leading phone manufacturer? Read on to find out…
We already know… Nokia Booklet 3G Nokia’s very own netbook. Who would have guessed it? Er, pretty much everyone actually. After Nokia and Intel announced a partnership it was almost a given. With a ten-inch glass-coated screen that’s ideal for displaying HD content, the Nokia Booklet 3G also has an HDMI port fling your Hi-Def content to an HDTV. Naturally, as the name suggests, it has 3G built-in. Expect the grand unveiling at Nokia World!
Nokia N900 It’s a tablet! That’s right, Nokia’s combined the best of smartphone and computer worlds and come up with the Nokia N900. It’s the company’s first Linux-based product, moving away from Symbian. What do we know? It’ll cost €500 and will launch at the end of the year with its 3.5-inch screen running Maemo 5 OS. You also get a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and 32GB of memory (expandable to 48GB). Nice.
Nokia 5230 This colourful mobile phone is like a hybrid of the Nokia 5800 and 5530 XpressMusic phones. The Nokia 5230 has a 3.2-inch touchscreen, and comes with the company’s new Homescreen and Contacts bar for sorting out your friends. Oh, and it’s unbelievably affordable. Show us more Nokia!
What could be announced… Nokia N97 Mini Rumours on the web have been rife about the imminent arrival of a Nokia N97 Mini. It’s probably the world’s worst kept secret. Anyway, it’s rumoured to sport a 2.9-inch screen and is basically the N97 put through a Shrink-o-matic ray gun. Chances of seeing this? We’d say fairly high.
Nokia X and C Series devices Nokia’s also rumoured to be announcing a name change for the XpressMusic range. Switching to X Series makes more sense and it’s less of a mouthful. It’s rumoured that the Comes With Music and XpressMusic ranges will both fit under this category. Also a C Series range has been rumoured, but what this stands for is still uncertain. We know Nokia’s copyrighted the name, but more than that is unknown. Hopefully we’ll see some new X and C series devices at Nokia World!
Keep an eye on the site this week for all Nokia’s announcements from Nokia World
