We heart the FINIS AquaBeat!
Swim, swimmer! It's the FINIS AquaBeat! This must be underwater love.
Swimmers have often been deprived of the sort of handy fitness gadgets other sportsters have been allowed to use (apart from weird-ass swimsuits of course), mainly because of that gadget kryptonite: water. The FINIS AquaPulse heart rate monitor, however, says “H20? Phooey!” to water and measures your ticker’s performance as you swim.
The FINIS AquaPulse, via infrared sensors, continually monitors your heart rate, and communicates it audibly to the swimmer via bone conduction (a unique sound transfer technology that communicates sound vibrations through the temple bone to the inner ear) at intervals of your choosing. You just hook it up to your goggles, resting it on your temple bone, clip it to your ear lobe, and hey presto.
Anything that makes swimming more interesting for us is a plus. Now all we need are little monitors in our goggles and you’ll never get us out the pool!So how much for the AquaBeat? It’ll cost $139.99 (or around £100 to you, sir) from May.
