Vita Audio's DAB goes portable Vita Audio – new DAB on the block

Vita Audio has just announced an update of its swanky R1 DAB radio. The R1 MkII retains the same stunning design as the original, but packs in a host of updates to make it an essential companion for summer tunes.

The big news is that the MkII is now fully portable, thanks to the “BackPack” accessory – a rechargeable NiMH battery system which attaches and blends with the rear panel to provide up to 20 hours of replay – plenty for even the most epic of barbecues.

There’s also a new carry case to cart around your slice of audio loveliness. “CarryPack” is a black or tan retro-style leather case to pop the R1 MkII into – perfect for livening up the picnic.

If you bore of crystal-clear DAB, then the Vita Audio Mk II also features an input to play your tunes straight from an iPod or iPhone, or any other audio device. The MkII will be available from late June.
