Virgin Media outs V HD box
Virgin brings cheaper HD option
Virgin Media is bringing HD to the masses with the release of a new high def-toting box, called V HD. Up until now, customers who wanted HD content had to shell out for a premium V+ box, but now V HD will bring access to Virgin’s six HD channels – National Geographic HD, FX HD, BBC HD, Channel Four HD and ESPN HD.
New additions such as Eurosport HD, Discovery HD, will also be arriving soon, so you could be watching the World Cup in HD is everything goes according to plan.
The Virgin V HD box will set you back a one-off cost of £49 (and an installation fee of £35), with no additional subscription fee, and will come packing the usual connectivity suspects – HDMI, SCART, USB and Ethernet. It’s also 3D-ready for multi-dimensional broadcasts of the future.
The V HD box is available now.

Well the V HD has no recording option so there is a difference between the 2. Virgin will not do anything for existing V+ customers - its the price you pay for getting a product before its the standard.
