Virgin Media adds Eurosport to its HD arsenal
Now with more HD sporting goodies...
Good news for sports fans: Virgin Media is adding Eurosport HD to its high-def programming armada, opening up a whole new umbrella of sporting treats in HD not offered by the likes of Sky.
Among the events to get the pixel-busting treatment over the months to come are the Tour de France, the French Open at Roland Garros and other European tennis events, all the European rounds of World Superbikes, the World Touring Car Championships and the European Athletics Championships.
The channel will have the same programme line-up as Eurosport’s regular offering, so non-live events and archive programmes will only be in standard definition, but there should still be plenty of HD sporting highlights to look forward to.
The channel will launch in April and will be available to all of Virgin’s 3.7 million subscribers, though it will only come free on the XL TV package.
Eurosport HD will be Virgin Media’s eighth HD channel, with the broadcaster promising more are on the way.

Sky platform may already have it, this was saying that Virgin cable platform was going to have it. At present there is only a few channels on Virgin which is HD.
