Ultra-thin Asus UX21 laptop takes on Apple MacBook Air

Trade show Computex is a big event for Asus, with the Taiwanese company launching lots of shiny new gadgets. Along with the Asus PadFone, one of the other products to catch our eye is the new Asus UX21, a stunning looking brushed aluminium laptop.

Asus is no stranger to ultraportable laptops – the company is already renowned for its mini Asus Eee PC lineup – but the Asus UX21 offers something completely different.

Aimed at the high end of the market, the Asus UX21 reeks of quality, and is looking to take on the Apple MacBook Air head to head.

Although its every bit as skinny as its Apple rival, the UX21 gets a brushed aluminium finish, and an all metal keypad helps to set it apart. At 1.1kg, it’s also an incredibly lightweight device, providing a viable alternative to the latest tablets.

How much the Asus UX21 costs remains to be seen, but from the looks alone we definitely want one!
