Toshiba outs trio of new Regza TVs
New Toshiba sets – parrot not included
Toshiba has just unveiled its new trio of spanking new TVs – the Cell Regza Slim 55XE2 and 46XE2 and the flagship 55X2, and all three come packing some serious specs.
Revealed in Japan earlier today, the names of the new sets refer to their sizes, but underneath the slim chassis you’ll also find a super-fast refresh rate of 240Hz and a 9,000,000:1 contrast ratio with local backlight dimming.
And the sets pack some serious smarts too – there’s 3D upscaling to add a new dimension to all those boring old 2D broadcasts, 3TB of storage and time-shifting for up to eight channels.
Round the back you’ll find the Toshibas are better connected than your average oligarch – there’s options for DLNA and up to eight HDDs.
The Toshibas will be available from October, but you better start saving now – the 55X2 will is billed to retail in Japan for a million Yen (£7,293), while the 55-inch Slim version will be ¥600,000 (£5,105) and the 46-incher will be ¥600,000 (£4,376).
