Top 5 quality in-ear earphones for under £50
Thinking of treating yourself or a loved one to a new pair of earphones this Christmas? Well, you don’t have to spend hundreds of pounds to get top-notch audio quality – far from it. Here are our picks for the best sub-£50 in-ear headphones this Christmas.
Skullcandy 50/50 Skullcandy is one of the hippest headphone brands around, so it’s no surprise that the 50/50s look great. They’re comfortable to wear and lightweight too, and do a decent job of cutting out external noise. Unsurprisingly considering Skullcandy’s roots they also deliver superb bass – making them perfect for enjoying your favourite dance choons while out and about.
Sennheiser CX 300-II Precision There’s no shortage of Sennheiser in-ear ‘phones that come in under £50, but we’ve chosen to highlight the CX 300-II Precision for their great bass response and good overall value for money. The no-nonsense design might be a little drab for some, but it’s ultimately performance that counts the most, and the CX 300-II Precision deliver.
V-Moda Remix Remote The V-Mode Remix Remotes look the business and give you loads of audio bang for your buck too. There’s definitely a touch of bling in the design, but it doesn’t stray over the line into tackiness and the overall look is classy and attractive. Throw in top-quality audio performance and touches like the Kevlar-reinforced cable and 24ct gold plated adapter, and there’s plenty to like here.
Sennheiser CX 680i Sports You might have to shop around to find them for under £50, but it’ll be worth the effort as the Sennheiser CX 680i Sports are among the best noise-cancelling sports earphones for the price. They weigh in at just 14g, and are sure to stay in place through even the most rigorous of workouts thanks to the well-designed ear fins.
SoundMAGIC E10 SoundMAGIC may not be the best-known audio brand in town, but the E10s won’t take long to win you over thanks to their attractive design, superb build quality and impressively wide frequency response range. And crucially, sound quality is a winner too, providing plenty of volume and the kind of clear, well-balanced audio you normally have to pay a lot more for.

Loved the review on headphones, lots of claims made on the marketing of these so great to have them independently tested. Personally I think there is a place for headphones that don't block out all surrounding sound as you might need to know when an ambulance is coming up behind you ;) This might then be at the cost of some sound leaking out too but life is full of compromises. Keep up the great work
