TomTom for iPhone makes us appy!
TomTom has finally stuck the TomTom for iPhone application on the App Store
It’s the day satnav fans have been waiting for: the day satnavs go sexy. The TomTom for iPhone, the most eagerly awaited turn-by-turn GPS program for your iPhone has finally arrived at the App Store.
Okay, we know that the TomTom for iPhone app isn’t the first GPS program for the iPhone (Co-Pilot and Navigonbeat the to the navi-punch), but it’s the one satnav fans have been waiting for. So how much does it cost? Well, if you want your TomTom for iPhone with just UK & Ireland maps, you can grab it for £59.99. If you like getting around the continent, then you’ll be interested in the Western Europe version for £79.99.
“That’s a pricey app,” we hear you say. And yes it is. But you also get IQ Routes which works out the fastest route depending on the time of day, safety camera alerts, 2D and 3D views, plus multitouch inputs so you can use the iPhone’s screen to pinch and swipe the maps.
TomTom’s still not unveiled the rest of the accompanying car kit, but as soon as it does (and for how much) will let you know.

I foolishly bought the Sygic GPS app for the iPhone. I payed almost £60 for it and I'm very disappointed. It's really slow and is not effective at all. I should've known better. An iPhone has an A-GPS receiver and is not suitable for GPS navigation at all. Buy a real GPS device, not one that seems to work like one!
