Tiny Panasonic Lumix GF2 unveiled
The smallest Micro Four Thirds camera ever
Panasonic has officially announced the Lumix GF2, its smallest ever Micro Four Thirds hybrid snapper, boasting HD video shooting and compatibility with Panasonic’s new 3D interchangeable lens.
The 3in touchscreen LCD and prominent Intelligent Auto mode continue the trend from other recent Lumix interchangeable lens offerings such as the GH2, but according to Panasonic the GF2 is a full 19 per cent smaller and 7 per cent lighter than the GF1 it replaces.
For all that, you still get a built-in flash along with features such as 23-zone multiple-area autofocus, AF tracking and face detection.
The 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor features advanced dust reduction to keep your happy snapping crystal clear for longer, and you have the choice of 1080i or 720p video recording at 60fps.
With the emergence of 3D photography, we’re pleased to see the GF2 happily plays along with Panny’s debut 12.5mm 3D lens. In the box itself you’ll be able to choose from a 14mm kit lens or a 14-42mm zoom offering.
The Lumix GF2 goes on sale in January, with prices set to be announced 30 days beforehand.
