The Vid Store: bringing flicks to your Nokia
Nok Nok. Who's there? The Vid Store, bringing movies to your Nokia
The Vid Store app is here to turn your Nokia into the portable movie machine you always wanted it to be. A sort of Blockbuster-esque video store for your N97 and the like, it’ll stream flicks to your phone to keep you amused whenever and wherever you like.
The Vid Store app is available on Nokia’s Ovi Store right now and works with the Nokia N97, Nokia 5800 and 5530 Xpress models, but wider support looks likely to be rolled out (given Nokia’s vast mobile catalogue it’s almost a certainty). All you have to do is install it and then get access to a library of vids for your mobile.

How do you pay for this service? Well it’s free to download, and then you can either cough up the cash by credit card or PayPal for the flicks that you want to watch. And there’s already plenty of choice. Nokia’s partnered with Paramount Movies from the start to offer over 70 movies from the likes of No Country for Old Men and Iron Man to other recent flicks like Eagle Eye and Ghost Town.
Nokia’s apparently working to bring more studios on board, so the library should continue to grow. If you fancy checking it out, head to Ovi Store and make sure you’re logged in with a compatible phone.
