The Spyball who loved me…

The Gadget Show  Wednesday 07 January 2009

The Spyball who loved me… It’s WowWee’s new surveillance ball webcam thingy. We love it!

“Is my home secure” is one of man’s primary concerns, coming in a close second to “Did I remember to stock up on lard?” WowWee’s new Spyball can’t sort out the lard thing, but it will protect your abode… sort of.

Remember the Rovio? Well this is WowWee’s version – a spherical roaming webcam surveillance ‘bot that’s designed to roll around your house before popping out a webcam to beam live pictures (video or stills) of that burglar nicking your TV. Oh well.

The handy little robot follows the Joesapien out of WowWee’s tent at CES and can be controlled from any web-connected PC and is packed with Wi-Fi so it can hook up to your home network. In motion it’s more stealthy than a ninja wearing slippers, rolling around, performing full 360-degree turns to boot. Just in case the burglar catches sight of it and wants to nab that too! Git!
